Stuttgart, Germany – Mercedes-Benz will debut the B-Class worldwide and the M-Class makes its European debut at the upcoming Geneva show, along with an enhanced CLK-Class and nine new models in the C-, E- and SKL-Class.

The new B-Class marks Mercedes-Benz’s entry into the Sport Tourer class, offering touring car comfort that can be quickly converted into the cargo-carrying capacity of a minivan. There is a choice of six four-cylinder engines, in CDI diesel or gasoline, ranging from 95 hp to 193 hp. The top-of-the-line turbo accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.6 seconds with a top speed of 225 km/h.

The 140 hp B 200 CDI accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.6 seconds with a top speed of 200 km/h, while returning 5.6 L/100 km in combined driving. The CDI models in the B-Class meet the stringent EU 4 exhaust emission limits even without a particulate filter, though Mercedes-Benz offers a maintenance-free diesel particulate filter system on request.

The Sports Tourer concept developed by Mercedes-Benz provides the basis for a new model family which will be founded in summer 2005 with the B-Class. It will shortly be followed by the Grand Sports Tourer, which Mercedes-Benz is exhibiting as the “Vision R” in Geneva.
