Honda Europe shows off their hot hatch goodness
Honda in North America may be a purveyor of humdrum Japanese automobiles. But, in Europe, Honda cranks out some wild hot hatches.
What you see here is the Civic Type R concept to be revealed at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. And just like every other Type R, it won’t be coming here, which is incredibly unfortunate considering it has a 276-hp 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder under the hood sending power to the front wheels.
Honda Europe says the new Civic Type R will deliver “unmatched performance compared to all previous Type R cars including… NSX.” That’s thanks to a new “+R” mode for track driving and a 7,000-rpm redline.
All of this just makes me wonder — why can’t Honda give us a good Civic again?
