At the 2015 Shanghai Motor Show, Infiniti took the wraps of its Infiniti Concept Vision Gran Turismo at their “Infiniti Design Night”. Available as DLC from the PS Store, the Vision GT was first seen as a digital-only concept as part of Playstation’s Gran Turismo concept car lineup.

Infiniti says the Concept Vision GT is a vision of what a high performance Infiniti could look like in the future. The idea of the virtual concept car began as an ambitious global Infiniti Design competition to “design a pure Infiniti GT car”.

The Chinese design team in Beijing won and came up with the what you see above – what the design team envisions a future Infiniti flagship GT might look like. “Part beauty, part beast, its shape is powerful, sensual and audacious – articulating the team’s ambitious racing language for Infiniti,” says the team.

In the GT6 world, the Vision GT is powered by a naturally aspirated V8 that sends power to the rear through a transaxle. The virtual concept most likely uses a variation of the current Nissan 4.5L naturally aspirated V8 already available off the shelf. The front-mid-engine concept is rear-wheel drive, again most likely a variation of the GT-R rear transaxle. The result is up front, the Vision GT sports a sharp visage and a wide grille, giving it a wild and powerful look. The flowing wraparound curves of the fenders hug the tires, resulting in a supercar that appears ready to pounce. The Shanghai physical concept, though, is likely just a roller.

Anyone who’s played with the Vision GT in GT6 will most likely be sending a prayer to the Nissan gods to put this concept into production in some form or another.
