What is the frequency required in changing plugs?  I haven't had them done on the Entourage.  Perhaps my Dad did when he owned it.   Sitting at 175k now.

Nice update and glad it has worked out well so far.

I need to change the plugs on the Z3M and have lots of time on my hands lately but it's too :censor: cold to work out in the garage.  :P.

Glad it's working out for her. Our 2011 is still running strong. Finally had to replace the original battery this past fall.

Thanks, she's quite happy with it.

That actually might be the next thing it'll need, I think it's still the factory one. Will check next time I open the trunk.

Update Time

The 323i has been running solid for Bella, drives great & has been mainly trouble free. A few issues have popped up since my last update as follows:

July - right rear wheel bearing started to get very noisy, took it to my indy & they did the bearing, discovered it needed a new front right ball joint (which is all one assembly with the lower control arm) and the right rear shock was leaking. Had them do the bearing and lower control arm assembly & I did the rear shocks myself. Cost from the indy was ~$700 & then the shocks I did for another ~$200ish.
August - check engine light kept coming on & off... figured out it was the solenoids for the VANOS system, took them out, cleaned them with MAF cleaner & then re-installed, problem solved.
October - new windshield installed because it had a crack in it.
December - valve cover gasket is leaking, going in for repairs next Tuesday (thanks to Chaos for the connection), should run somewhere between $300 - $450, depending on the parts we need. Had the gasket kit ordered & associated spark plug grommets and then ordered new bolts as well, but those might not need to be changed... was more of a good to have them in hand if needed deal.

Weird.  I'm not seeing pictures on Mozilla.  Right.  Something to look into.

Okay, fixed it.  Now I totally look like a dumbass in that previous exchange, lol.

My pleasure to help bud!  :)
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

Looks good! I had mine done last summer under warranty. Common BMW problem after 100k.

We're still under 60K so hopefully have a while to go.

are you guys talking about valve cover gaskets going?

i've never had to replace one in any car i've ever owned (from any brand).

These are awesome. My mom had a '10 323i many years ago and it was a sensational driving car, despite being automatic. The smoothness of the straight-six, proper hydraulic steering and great chassis made for one great commuter. Her current C-Class is newer and has more features, but drives worse in every conceivable way.

I strongly considered a stick post-facelift E90 323/328i before buying the Lexus; it would have likely been my last manual daily driver. In the end, finding my black/black LS at around the same price attracted me to it.

Bella's got her eye on a new ride... 323i is up for sale. If anyone knows of someone looking, here's the ad:
