On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

OK, another guess - A 1963 Holden EH Wagon (of course) with three on the tree! ;)

There are those Canadian Ford brands too, Meteor/Monarch/Frontenac. They were more or less badge engineered Fords or Mercurys for the Canadian market. Some of those had inline 6s too.

Austin Healey? Don't those have a partially American pedigree? Though those probably aren't cheap

Very close

1961 Pontiac Laurentian sedan - farm fresh

A Canadian only variant. Basically a Pontiac body, Chevrolet chassis and mechanical bits. The engine is a 261cid Chevrolet straight six. The 261 was used in truck applications in the US but also Canadian Pontiacs from 55 to 62. This one runs and is almost rust free but needs a little mechanical and interior TLC.

Oh and its a three speed manual on the column. I've never owned a manual column shift so excited about that. I figure its an automotive bucket list item. Pretty bare bones car. Manual steering and brakes! Hoping to drag it home tomorrow.

Only drove one once, I think it was a pickup truck.

My father had a 1961 Pontiac Strato Chief for close to 10 years,I remember they had to rebuild the engine a couple a time. Tune ups twice a year

Very nice find - looks solid & all the chrome bits are there.
Looks to be a bit of a wrinkle on the rear bumper on drivers side, but assume that's an easy fix
What's your plan with this one?

You'd likely get along well with these guys...  I enjoy watching their vids, they are up around Edmonton somewhere

I think there was a bit of wrinkle in the bumper. The reverse light on that side is missing as well. I might give it a few hits with a rubber mallet to see if it will return to the correct shape. Seems unlikely since it would have been there several decades. No worries as I don't plan to make it perfect. I do plan to do several road trips with it. Maybe the beater challenge next year if I can keep the re-conditioning costs reasonable.

But a family classic driver for next spring/summer with lots of road trips.

Looks very solid, gotta love those Western cars, we have nothing like that around here. Cool find, and I love the idea of keeping it imperfect and road tripping it  O0

Once I get it home I'll post some photos of the trunk and floor. Ridiculously dry. Original (but patina'd) paint.

I learned to drive on an International pickup with three in the tree. The only issue with it is it would jam sometimes, would have to crawl underneath and do a bit of prying.
