...all of us car guys are saying is it JUST would've been a GREAT idea, and from soley my view point it may have been a great marketing idea for them.

This I completely agree with - I'll continue to be the thorn in the factory's side on this front. If a manual 3.3T ever were available, I'd be standing at the front of the line for a set of keys.

Where my eyes begin to roll firmly into the back of my head is when the comments go from "it would be nice" to "they're idiots for not doing it", of which there's been a few.

Anyway, I'll have a Siberian Ice 3.3T Sport this weekend assuming the weather allows (Michelin Pilot Sport 4 doesn't like snow), can share more pictures then.

Yes, please continue to be a thorn in the factory's side [emoji106]

Our smart phones give us instant access to the largest store of knowledge in human history.

And we use them to debate whether Genesis' pairing of engines to manual transmissions was (a) merely disappointing or (b) utterly idiotic.

The fact of the debate is itself idiotic!  There is no hope for humanity.

Respectfully, this is a car site forum discussion, and no more.
I love it when a plan comes together.

Well, of course.  But the way we discuss things, including cars, enables insights that go beyond the narrow topic of cars.

I am surprised is all about the topics around which polarizing views form.

True. And they all relate to Hyundai / Kia...like they're the second coming in the automotive sense :)

But I've said too much, I own a BMW...must run

Still not sure why so much defence against them not offering a manual in the 6... all of us car guys are saying is it JUST would've been a GREAT idea, and from soley my view point it may have been a great marketing idea for them.
there is no defense...we all agree a 3.3T with a manual would be amazing...all they are saying is they understand why one isn't available, even if it would have been great if it were.

i too think it would have been nice if they had it, but the reality is, if i were buying one, i'd buy the auto anyways, as i'm sure most others would too...it's a business decision...nothing more, nothing less...no need to argue about it for 5 pages.
When you've lost the argument, admit defeat and hit the smite button.

I'm guessing Hyundai made the decision that they did (like Porsche) for a reason.  So I guess you must know something that they don't.

Porsche reason is performance first in their top shelf performance cars. Their autos are quicker shifting than any human...and on their track day special cars, that's important.

Also, FWIW, their manuals are nowhere near as good as your S2000.

I can vouch for the performance of the Boxster PDK I have.  The PDK was absolutely amazing on my track day and really let me focus on my driving.

Well, talk aside, here's some pretty pictures. Had to take the car to some meetings at our ad and PR agencies downtown, and one of the content specialists on the PR side was kind enough to come out in the rain and snap these shots (vanity plate in the front is photo-shopped as we'll be using these for the corporate social media accounts).

More photos to come this week of a Siberian Ice 3.3T Sport with the red interior stitching and red brakes.

I hate to admit it too, but damn Hyundai did a good job with this...considering the constraints of the current styling trends [gaping front maw, huge side intakes that are not intakes anymore, etc.

Interior looks great - I like buttons and knobs to control my essential car functions, not a damn screen sub-menu

That is stunning!  I really wish that interior were available on an AWD model at  aprice in the 40s.  My SO doesn't drive manual transmission cars. :(

I'm going to put a $1000 down to lock in the rates and see what happens when I have a chance to test drive one.

If the smilies weren't enough I'm absolutely in love... Patrick can I have a wagon in Manual Transmission and AWD?

You kind of can - the 2.0T Elite at $47,000 has real leather with nice vertical-stitch quilting. Other than the leather type (regular vs. Nappa), stitching (vertical vs. diamond quilting), and door cards (plain leather vs. quilted leather), the interiors are basically identical. I'm partial to the Caramel Brown.

We’re getting that colour on our Q7. We were getting tired of black on black.

That G70! Gorgeous by any yardstick. They’ve nailed it.
