Uhm, what about absolute sales numbers?

This is just relative change, in which case, you can make conclusion that "Tesla is seeing growth in sale unlike most other manufacturers" but not something like "the other automakers can't compete".

Just as a simple example, Manufacture A saw growth from 5,000 to 5,500 sales, while Manufacturer B saw decline from 100,000 to 80,000. Yeah A saw growth, but in the end the sales are still a drop in the bucket compared to B.

Well, that still leaves a few other manufacturers on that graph...

I get that people who have the money tend to shift to Tesla as it does have some favourable characteristics, but sorry, us lowly poor peasants can't afford one.

You answered a question nobody asked. So you're not denying they are not profitable then?

In Tesla's defense, that looks like a broken ball joint to me.

And Tesla surely doesn't manufacture their own ball joints?

It was more the Tesla fanboys in the article that gave me a laugh.
Oh yea....thinnest skinned out that with a cult like belief in Tesla.

Seems this is pertinent to the credits you and I have been discussing with SE.

Tesla excluded from S&P 500...article hints possibly  due to their profits stemming from regulatory credits rather than auto sales?

https://www.ft.com/content/1da...06-38e6-4cd5-9e4c-a06144310478

I still think they'll get in...And maybe as a single inclusion for a whole month (or when the stock goes down) as with that massive market cap will be one heck of a rebalance headache for funds!

Either that or they think it's grossly overpriced currently.

Well, the correction finally came. -17% today, -32% in a week or so.

Anybody could see the stock was waaaaayyyyy overpriced.

Stock dilution and Softbank manipulation certainly didn't help...

Tech sector is taking a hit.

Softbank had a hand in all of this tech run up.

I took profits just when the story was starting to come out...

Tech will bounce back. The 2nd wave of COVID will probably cause another load of retail shutdowns, people will get bored and start to buy stuff online again.

August 2021 for a tidy profit.
