Thanks all. Yes, it is an ambitious project - I'd be farming out the body work, that's beyond my abilities and I know it. If I had the luxury of free time I'd take it on as a learning experience, but I don't have that kinda time. The mechanicals I can handle; these Jag's are slightly more complex than the MG/Triumph's that I am used to, but not by much, everything is just a little bigger.
To answer Seafoam's question about the engine, I don't really know much about it other than it hasn't run since 2004. It may be seized, or it may be fine. Either way, it'll take some tinkering to get it running, but I am not too worried about that part.
TPL, yes these do rot around the rear suspension mounts. One of the first things I checked on this car and surprisingly they are decent.
The '67 that John linked is gorgeous, but it is also much more desirable car than this one. That is a Series I car, mine is a Series II; there are a lot of little differences, but the biggest would be the covered headlamps on the Series I. Also, mine is a 2+2, which has little seats in the back, and a taller roofline to accommodate those seats, 2+2's significantly less valuable for a long time, but have seen a recent surge in pricing and desirability due to the insane values on the other cars. The linked car is a Fixed Head Coupe, just 2 seats and a lower roofline.
