Congrats PJ, hopefully everything will check out and go away, as it is such a great ride. Even with the 20" rims it is super comfortable and at the same time it doesn't feel disconnected from the road.

It would have been a Sportwagen if they would have had the Comfortline AWD in stock like the VW salesman thought, but no!

You didn’t want to hunt around a bit? Surely there must be a Comfortline AWD somewhere in Western Canada.

Autotrader is showing a few (in Edmonton even,) but I know that doesn’t always mean much.

Black VW sportwagens are everywhere! You can see one in the background behind what we have our deposit down on:

A 2017 RX350 Executive, 42,000km

Needed a bit of tinkering, including sorting out some error messages, changing the windshield, buffing out some scratches and changing over from winter tires.

Drove like a dream though, has full 3M, clean accident record, 360 cameras, radar cruise, auto emergency braking, spotless interior, etc. If it checks out when we go back to the dealership that's what we'll end up with
Boss!
Congrats on the new wheels.

For sure. They were all quite a bit more though. That same dealer offered to get one (the last one in Alberta!) for $29,000 all in, which was a fair bit more than the 21500 plus GST we'd seen advertised (and turned out to be FWD). Another VW dealer in town had a bunch at the high twenties, and still has them as far as I know

At the high twenties I start to think 'That's not far from a new base Rav4 that I wouldn't have to worry about', and 'That would go a long way towards something really nice used'
And I never did get clarity from VW on whether the free service offer covered DSG/Haldex/brake fluid changes

That being said, here's a new one for $20380 that just popped up  :)  :

Congrats! Although the styling is not for me, there is no denying the RX is one of, if not the best in the segment. Trouble free luxury.

Looking forward to your ownership impressions.

Oh, and also...welcome to the club  ;D

The Lexus handshake is using your turn signal.  Then no one will think you're in a POS BMW.

That's more of a Red Deer thing!

So, we did get that RX on the weekend, very happy with it so far, and relieved that this odyssey is over

Will start a Show n shine thread

Yeah, finally got it. Oddly enough, pretty much back to the beginning of this whole thread

Been worth the wait so far, every time we get in we get a 'Holy Sh*t this is nice' feeling (other than yelling at the non carplay nav system the other day)

Then again we are jumping up in vehicle tech by 20 years from the vehicles we had, and this is the top Executive trim with all the goodies possible in a RX in 2017

The way I feel about every Lexus I've owned (save for maybe the IS-F).

It's really nice driving a finely crafted luxury car....you look forward to driving it, but for different reasons than, say, a sporty car.

Congrats again, man!
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...
