I don't have any issues with the performance - I think it's the sweet spot in any event for such a car (not every car needs to be a bi-turbo V8 with 600+ ponies).  5.5s 0-100 is certainly more than adequate.

...but quality control issues are unacceptable for a vehicle in this snack bracket.

Nifty trunk though, and stunning interior.

E-Class is "the car". Probably spans a wider range of body styles and horsepower and driving dynamics than any other nameplate.

On some level this car is a glorified taxi.

Also a V6 in this car is totally fine IMHO. V8 is better obviously and also suits the car...but MB sells plenty of other V8 powered 2-doors for your hooning pleasure.


Sort of as an aside I parked next to an ML63 today and I sort of got the urge to swap my V60 for something louder.

There's something that's just not "Mercedes" about those taillights.  Other M-B models suffer the same fate.
