This better be your dream car. If it is, good on ya, enjoy it, and the repair bills will be easier to swallow. If not, run....fast.
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

I think there's good value to be had in these older flagships, even of the FGC variety, ASSUMING you can get a spectacular price and an equally spectacular extended warranty.

And a well-equipped, close by indie mechanic.

As a general assumption I would think the "one step down" cars are a bit better of a bet (E-Class / 5'er) even if they are a little less special.

Especially with the E-Class as its just a taxi with a gigantic motor after all.
You can't just have your characters announce how they feel.
That makes me feel angry!

Another BMW sold with a junk engine.  When buying a used BMW, it's best to avoid turbos or V-8s.  And look what happens when you combine those two thing!  Disaster.

Why bother trying to find the right one?  Just avoid them all.  There's really nice used luxury buys out there that aren't ticking time bombs.

While I'm sure this is a beautiful car to be in and drive, when it works, the potential for it having a catastrophic Bring More Wallet moment is too damn high. Lexus LS would be my choice.
Lighten up Francis.....

Bring More Wallet

Or if you are in Montreal when it breaks down, a Bus-Metro-Walk moment...
I'd rather be car-poor than house-poor...

I have to agree with you on that one. When I was visiting my sister in Florida earlier this year she had just gotten a new LS460....beautiful car!
Old Jag convertible...one itch I won't have to scratch again.

To be fair, she lives in Florida... The land where anything goes and new Lexii are cheaper relatively speaking.
