I love racing, and I've entrenched myself well and truly in the pointy end of the mid pack, which is extremely satisfying. I'm going to invest in better gloves, and change how I make my notes at the end of each session, plus work on physical fitness to eliminate soft errors due to fatigue.
I appreciate your concern, but imma keep going. Life is for the courageous.
Power to you, mate! I of course have concern for your well-being, but if you take the necessary precautions, learn from your mistakes, and continue to better yourself, inherently dangerous activities can be less so. This brings up the question of the mountain climbers that fall, Steve Irwin, and even novice downhill skiers. My family has vehemently demanded that I stop scuba diving, skiing, or skydiving. I've had no serious injuries out of any of those activities, but I'm sure they're more than simply "possible."
Choose how you want to live your life. From my perspective, Jacob's doing a great job here, and he certainly is mindful of his wife and kid when he participates. I like the idea of better gloves if you're hurting your hand repeatedly, and we can all see from his ass-cam, err, videos that he wears a full face helmet, back protection, etc. And did you see the cute little boots? Awww!
Jacob didn't go out, buy a 1200cc bike and try to figure out racing on the streets of Windsor here...he is affiliating himself with a racing school and participating well. The bike's a good fit, and his injuries thus far (THANKFULLY) haven't been too bad.
Keep working on it, keep at it, check your e-mails more often for new articles, and keep on riding the mean, green, Kawasaki machine!
