You’re giving me an easy out on the C43 wagon promise.

Rattles?  In a Mercedes?  Even the most unreliable MB I've ever had was bank vault solid.  My 1990 190E 2.6 had 509K and not a creak or rattle in the body or interior.  Even our POS E300 felt like the structure would last forever.

Oh, from my experience it was BAD.  There was an evident ticking coming from the front window trim and something in the rear quarter sounded like a bucket of marbles was being bounced around.

Yes, rattles. Squeaks too. Whenever I'm travelling over surfaces with rapid elevation changes (e.g recessed manhole covers), a squeaking sound reminiscent of styrofoam rubbing together emanates from somewhere in the dashboard.

If you approached the current C-Class expecting it to feel like the bank vault Merc's of yore, then you'll be disappointed. Doors are light (rears feel hollow), and lean onto the door armrests with a bit more force and you'll be rewarded with a slight creak.

On the bright side, its exhaust sounds great, and is fun to throw into corners. You win some, you lose som-A LOT. lol

Think it's time we moved this thread to the Moan and Whine section.

A few weeks ago, the satellite navigation stopped working. Tried to get it fixed, but because we couldn't get a loaner car, we rescheduled our appointment for mid-July (the service department was swamped with repair orders, go figure). Today, the entire Comand Online infotainment system crashed, a black screen with no sound, no backup camera, and no bluetooth. We are completely fed up with Mercedes-Benz.

It seems with a FGC, that if it's trouble, it's going to REALLY be trouble.  If things start to go on a consistent basis, it's time to bail.

A wheel bearing started making noise on my V60. Got an appointment within a week at the local dealer, now driving a super nice V90 T6 s a loaner. Just saying... ;)

I don't wish automotive grief on anyone.  :'(   At the same time I find FGC threads hugely entertaining.   ;D  Feeling.... conflicted.  :-\

Sounds pretty minor to me. Car still drives as it should, nothing here even sounds like a safety issue.  Actually without all that garbage, you can focus on having fun driving again.

Lease or purchase, bailing less than a year into a car this costly is its own kind of exquisite pain.  I seriously do NOT know how people put up with this kind of crap.  If all this grief were experienced by the owner of a brand new $18k economy car, they would have every right to be outraged and legitimately claim that they had been sold a steaming turdpile.  A luxury / sport sedan at 4 times the price?  I have no words.  I haven't had nearly this many issues in the last 5 cars I owned COMBINED.  :o  And none so serious as to impact driveability.

A few weeks back I drove a 10 year old Lexus IS 250 with 120k km (starting to learn the market for a car for the kid).  ZERO rattles.

WOW, I feel for you... this is where it sucks that Canada doesn't have the same lemon laws as the US, but it might be worth starting the process with CAMVAP if you want to get out of it... http://www.camvap.ca/

sometimes, you just get a bad wheel bearing...i wouldn't really be too concerned about that one...they usually go eventually anyway.

Not concerned at all. Actually I hope the bearing is back order and I could keep the V90 a few days.  :D

The V60 is not mine, company car, so I'm really not worried..  ;)

The V90 has auto-pilot.. Really an odd feeling to have the car steer itself..  :o
