This would probably be the ideal performance vehicle for my daily driver.  I would have preferred VW bring this over the e-Golf but I can understand why the more mundane offering has broader public appeal.  With the fallout of dieselgate I would have thought all electric/hybrid vehicles VW makes would venture over to our shores to help try and win back eco buyers.

Those blue colored plaid seats would have been perfect in my Golf R, I'm a bit jealous the GTE got them.

Taking into account the QC PHEV rebate ($4k), the e-tron is actually cheaper than the GTI I recently reviewed. getting the keys in two weeks  :bounce:

I would like to test drive an electric Golf, of course preferably the GTE but also the e-Golf. My commute lends itself to an electric vehicle as do my surroundings 6 days of the week. If there's a range extender for me to get to farther-away destinations, for the 1 or 2 days where I do intercity drives, that'd be perfect car for me.

I never thought I'd warm up to electric cars, but there are a lot of charging points in (hipster/eco-friendly) Asheville NC incl. my workplace, and this area doesn't have the sprawl of most other north American cities.

When someone says "electric Golf" I can't help but think...
