Impressive, Honda somehow managed to make the swoop at the rear window even less attractive.

And that centre stack:  :hurl:

That styling, inside and out. This is one of those "WTF Japan?" moments.

On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

Nice van overall. I'm iffy about the push button transmissions. And speaking of transmissions...

Quote
the top-of-the-line gearbox is a brand new 10-speed automatic, the first planetary automatic transmission that Honda has ever manufactured in-house.

...this kinda worries me. A brand new automatic transmission manufactured in house by Honda, what could possibly go wrong?

And that centre stack:  :hurl:

At least there's a physical volume dial though.

Yep.  I am more convinced now than ever that whoever is in charge of design at Honda is completely off their meds.

This van is going to be such a huge seller just because of all the hate it's getting on autos.ca

Agree. What the hell. The rear trailing swoop isn't so bad from a distance, but why?  And that centre stack/IP....

LOL you are totally right...!

I am going the opposite way here - I actually quite like the design both in and out.

That center stack looks like it came out of a Transformers movie.

Otherwise, it looks like the ultimate people mover.

But you know what... I like it...  ;D

I always had a soft spot for the Odyssey. It's funny because I'm not at all attracted to the Sienna, Sedona or Pacifica.

The styling is a little awkward, but it is a great vehicle for big families. The EX trim seems like really good value, although missing the power liftgate and heating steering wheel, which I would want to have. I like that Honda is now putting the vacuum cleaner in the lower trim levels too.

Exterior styling on a minivan is the major hold-up for a lot of potential customers, which makes it extremely important for designers to get right.
...and they failed.

Yes, that's what families need - a vacuum, but not a power liftgate.  How much is a non-built-in vacuum these days?  $100?  $150?  FFS.

First, the sliding door rail track is now integrated into the bottom of the rear window, ... – no more ugly, gaping holes.
Umm,

I see at least 4 in that pic ;D

How's your eyesight these days?

:hurl:

I LOVE the "How Much Farther" app though!!  So clever and cute.  I mean, it'll wear off after a few trips, but still, SO CUTE!  ...  :-\

In terms of value, the EX is the good spot, but certain features that wouldn't cost $15,000 are omitted clearly to bump people up.  Frustrating, but nothing new (and not only Honda is guilty of this).  At $50k, that's a pricey b!tch, but this thing is quite loaded compared to the pre-updated Sienna (whatever that update will be, who knows).

Great job for Honda - I'm sure this would win a comparo, too, but mah gawd I can't look at the thing, inside or out.

yea, that whole dash/centre cluster setup is atrocious.

pretty difficult to drop $50k on that, when these are next door for similar money (although i do find the Sienna interior to be a bit odd as well, but still better than the Odyssey):

I don't like power liftgates, heck I'd prefer not to have power sliding doors except my kids aren't strong enough to open/close a minivan door. On my Sienna LE, the power sliding door is only on the passenger side.

The Kia interior is fantastic.  The other two are a mess, with the Honda being messier.
I'd rather be car-poor than house-poor...

Other than the fact that even the Sedona is 5th place in sales on both sides of the border. Yes, even the expensive Pacifica is outselling the Sedona. If you look at the Sedona in person, it's pretty dated especially with the brown interior which really doesn't look good.

I didn't think it could get any uglier, but it did.  Like in most Honda models their styling direction is not to my taste.
