Gosh this is a nice car. Good report...sounds and looks like the three boxes of old. Just the right amount of everything and I think the flex beam rear is just right here. Would love the stick shift but reality says no. Love the no nonesense interior.

Yeah...an Elantra three box equiv. to measure against and possibly a three box Focus. Somewhat back to the sixties again.

An incredibly thorough review!

Am I correct that no trim offers automatic climate control or dual zone?  That's unfortunate, if true.

A nice value leader, and obviously the better choice to the Elantra if you don't want a manual transmission.

People who buy this must not know that the Civic and Elantra Sport exist.  Hard pass.

Yeah, the older Sentra SE-R was built about as well as a North Korean clock radio but at least it had a limited slip diff and that 2.5 4 banger was torquey.

Dear Nissan,

Please bring back the SR20DE and add a "T" at the end like you did in other markets.

Sincerely,

An ex-Nissan sport compact fan

I used to be a huge Nissan fan as well....now only the GT-R holds my interest, ok, not holds, has me by the jewels in a vise like grip. Otherwise though, their lineup is about as exciting as picking paint colors.

Years ago I was a big Nissan fan.  I bought a 1990 300ZX and 1993 Pathfinder new.
Today nothing that Nissan sells (that I could afford) interests me.

I consider myself a sports car guy, but for reasons I can't comprehend I never fell in love with my 300ZX.  Maybe it was the pearl yellow paint job that I thought would grow on me (it didn't).  On the other hand I loved my Pathfinder.  It's one of the few vehicles I regret selling.
A computer once beat me at chess, but it was no match for me at kickboxing.

But then you'd have to look at the Civic, and listen to the Dixie cup no-knob stereo while commuting. My Dad has a current-gen Sentra SV with the lux pkg and the Bose stereo beats anything I tested recently at less than twice the Nissan's price. For the price, this is a great all-around daily driver. Main main beef with it is fuel economy, premium on top of that, as I see the Juke's drinking problem transfered in this application.

This struck me funny.  ;D

Right.  Because the most important attribute of a sporty sedan is the stereo.  ::)

That one too.  Don't know how you overlook everything else that is vastly more appealing in this segment and buy the Nissan.  Unless a) you're a drooling Nissan fanboy; b) you work for Nissan an get a sweet employee discount; 3) you believe there really is such a thing as a "sport tuned CVT" or d) you're really shopping for a Bose stereo.  ;D

I know thats why the Ferrari F40 was a hard pass for me, the stereo sucked  ;D
