I don't think black in general does anything to enhance vehicles and large rim diameters with less rubber side wall deteriorate from ride comfort IMO which is not what you want. Otherwise the appearance is not too tatted up and is simply nice.

Isn't this generation Pathfinder having rather extensive reliability issues?

I agree with Rupert here... This trim makes very little sense to me. Paying the same for the platinum edition just for some blacked out trim pieces isn't my cup of tea.

My brother looked at this and the Infiniti twin.  Neither worked for a family of 4, especially for the price. They got a Sienna AWD and couldn't be happier. They did like the Highlander, but unlike the Pathfinder, it didn't have the awesome tilt middle row that allows access to the rear even with car seats installed.

I don't think the gas mileage is that bad for such a large vehicle. But it is sad to think how cool the 1st few generations of Pathfinders were & now have morphed into this  :banghead:

Funny how you pay more for the blacked out edition and yet the most egregious pieces of chrome are still there, sticking out like sore thumbs.

Well it's not completely impossible. Nissan did the Rogue One version of the Rogue. It looks really tacky with all the Star Wars stickers and color references. I could never dare being seen behind the wheel of one of those monstrosities.

My question : Why ??

agreed...the GM pickups have their "Elevation Edition", which gives blacked out bits that are normally chrome...if you're doing a black edition, then do it...looks like they were simply too cheap to buy black grill trim and roof bars and left the originals there.

My parents drive one of those in Platinum trim. It's loaded with equipment and very comfortable, but the fit and finish is disappointing. Lots of hard hollow plastics all around. And that faux wood looks really tacky.

I'm generally not a fan of Nissan interiors, but at $48k, I expected more. The Murano is a little better, but still not great.

It's also a pig on gas, unsurprisingly, yes.

Yes! In fact most newer Nissans have them...

Ha ha, pig on gas!  At least that has not changed.  The original Pathy was nicknamed Pumpfinder and that stuck through the R50 and horrible R51.  Glad to see they kept something the same across generations.

Meh.  This generation of Pathfinder sold well as the price was low.  Now it's price advantage is gone and so is any reason to buy one.  Some friends of ours got so tired of theirs that they took a bath on it trading it on a Highlander and think it was worth every penny.

Don't tell Jacob... He's sensitive.

Not sure what y'all are expecting. 12.5L/100km isn't horrible... Have you driven the last generation (09-13) Fozzie XT??  Pure city yesterdaywas showing 15.4L/100km of premium required.

12.5 for me is horrible.  I get about the same in my LX570!

Driving the CR-V this week (yes it's smaller) but 8.5!   I'd expect around 10.5-11 max for Pathfinder.

^for a racer you must have the lightest right foot off the track I've ever seen  :rofl2:  or your daily commute is just that much better than the rest of ours, because I'm sitting at 13L/100km right now in my GC so far after filling up on Sunday morning
