If I were to do it again I would still get the diesel.  But I would look a LOT harder to find a manual.

4motion wouldn't tip the scales? I guess it'd depend on timing. I did really enjoy driving your car. 4motion diesel would be a killer combination

If firm gets the R wagon manual here in Canada I'd have a hard time resisting changing mine for it...

I think there's very little competition for the golf wagon and it's a fantastic car. No regrets, other than very rarely driving it these days

Without the discount and warranty I would do 4-Motion over the TDI, it's just such a great package.

Also with the Highlander I have less need for AWD and the TDI has a big advantage in fuel economy.

And while the TSI is great, I do prefer the TDI.

The fuel economy and performance of the 1.8T is pretty damn good, all things considered. For me that makes the TDI unnecessary.

Not like we have a choice anyways.

I'm really hoping that we'll continue to get the wagon with the next generation Golf.

Agreed when comparing FWD versions.

But the gap is a bit bigger with the 4-Motion.

And without the 11yr/262k warranty it would be TSI all the way.

Well, it's now out of the bumper to bumper warranty since it's over 80k km.  About two months before the 4 years.  Without COVID it would have rolled over 80k in the summer some time.

Of course I just found out the passenger heated seat isn't working.  I called the dealership and booked an appointment.  We'll see what kind of goodwill I get considering it has 80,077 km and surely happened a while ago since it's been forever that the passenger heated seat has been used.

Was there 78 km on your car when you bought it? That would be in your favour.

Good luck. Wonder if that is a common problem or maybe something very minor like a bad wire? Mine is 12 years old now and the seats can still put out lots of heat as the Mrs tests that all the time.

The switch and indicator lights seem to be working fine, I wonder if that rules out a fuse.

That said, I'm sure the system is unnecessarily difficult.

I would think the actual seat is on a relay.  Check under the seat to see if the harness has been disconnected.

Yeah, I gave a quick look under the seat but couldn't see anything.

I bet you've never had to clean chocolate milk off of your headliner either.

If you have to change the seat heating elements that should not a be a hard job, I did that on my Vibe with an aftermarket kit.

Probably lots of shops that can do that for you as well
