Lol...I saw Winklovic in the comments egging people on....nice work  ;D

I am actually very pleased with the result. As dent said, MGB's don't bring big $$, so this is actually a bit more than I had my reserve set at.

Last few minutes were pretty exciting though.....

Nice sell! I missed out on the action at end because I was cooking dinner for the kids.

^ Yeah, come on. I submitted this car to BaT long before the kiddo was due out....They actually have quite a bit of lead-time to get a car posted, and it just so happened that it went up right when the baby arrived.

It is good timing though; I wouldn't have much time for this car, especially this year.....Nothing else is for sale though, so bugger off  :P

Besides, I don't think a baby seat would fit!

I think $8K is a fair price for seller and buyer.

Yeah, $8K USD converts to about $10.4K CAD. That's right in line, maybe a touch higher, than I expected. It's one of those things, very comparable MGBs have brought more (I've seen similar cars go for $15K+), but at that price you'd be waiting around for months or years for that 'right' buyer. Better to be happy with a fair price and move onto something else.

Not sure what I'll do with the little injection of cash....Kiddo is pretty well set for now; I'll either just add it to the growing 'car fund' or be boring and put it against the mortgage.

Ottawa pays a generous 20% on every dollar you put into an RESP, up to $500 per year per child until you reach the lifetime maximum. A contribution of $2,500 gets you $500 but the government also lets you go back one year for unclaimed grant money.

Yeah, limited buyers around in the Canadian  market would drag on a sale - The US is certainly a bigger market  and then there's the dollar difference. Will you start to sell exclusively now on BAT as a result?
Upon further reflection I suppose $10K CAD is in line - -I sold my MGB in 1977 (were you born then?) for $2k 40 years ago. Although it was full of bondo. ;)
