Refreshed carbs back on, synced up and this thing is running perfectly! It's amazing the difference properly tuned carbs can make, more power, smooth....I didn't want to stop driving it.
Also got the factory style 'MGB' striping installed....Feelings in the MG community are mixed on these stripes, but I am big fan:

Looks great. You never guess that the car is unrestored.

Mine did not have the stripes and it had RoStyle wheels not wires.   Only 2 wipers as well of course.  But that is proper car at the proper ride height and the colour is fantastic.

Thanks guys. In my opinion this is pretty much the spec to have as far as MGB's go...Chrome bumpers, updated interior (comfy seats with headrests, center console, glovebox, etc), dual carbs, wire wheels, 3 wipers, Blaze Red w/ striping. This car is missing electronic O/D, which would be nice, and I prefer the fancier front grille from the '73, vs. the recessed black grille in the '72.

I was a rubber bumper guy forever; mostly because I really like the 77+ interior, but after spending some time with this one I am starting to fall for it. Thinking 72-73 is probably the sweet spot. The older interior iterations are too archaic for long drives.

I'll probably sell this before the end of the summer; I just don't have the space to hang onto it...even though I am really tempted to. Unrestored B's like this just don't show up like they used to. If it weren't for sentimental attachments, there'd be a good argument to keep this one and sell my 21,000 mile '78.

She's sweeeet!

I kinda like the '74¼ that keeps all of those classic bits, but offer some parking protection with the big rubber blocks affixed to the bumpers.

Mrs Currywinkle, now under full co-worker ownership, is still in storage, unplated. Everything needed has been fixed, but the windshield washers leak under the dash instead of on the glass. Can't pass safety until that is fixed. The electric overdrive was tested and it works in 3rd as well as in 4th as it should be. Co-worker is having his other '74¼ re-floored.

Didn't know you had sold it...booo.

There's some washer tubing that makes a pretty sharp bend and then goes into a t-fitting sorta behind the speedo, on the inner firewall. I bet it's a crack there, easy fix, as long as you're not claustrophobic  ;D

I did have the o/d unit.  Pity they are even rarer than hens teeth and expensive when you do find them.

Hope it does well!

I have to admit that I'm not much of a MGB fan but just love the looks of this one!  If it was closer I would take a serious look.

Gorgeous car.  Must have been a difficult decision to part with it.

He's got over an hour and a half, it'll move up a little more. Crappy part is it's in Canada, that's the hard part for us here on BAT, decreases the bidding because people don't wanna come up to get the cars.

I think the border is bringing down the price. Also the issue that the MG B is one of the most common collector cars so it is relatively easy to source one locally. People will drive long distances for say a Jensen Interceptor since they are more uncommon. Hopefully there are a bunch of last minute bidders.

Congrats on the sale, Firm.  The last 10 minutes were fun to watch.  Are you happy with the result?
