I stopped by the Hyundai dealer to have a look and did a quick road test. Nice looking car inside and out. Drives well, very quiet, no aerodynamic noise whatsoever up to 120 kph. Some tire noise intrude in the cabin however. This may have been noticeable because I did not turn on the radio and with no other noise source all I could hear were the tires. Very nice regen system with 4 levels, from 0 regen to full, which will allow 1 pedal driving and bring you almost to a full stop. Handling seems ok, steering is light and the car quite responsive to steering inputs. Cargo and interior space is quite good for a car this size, very similar to the current gen Elantra.
Heated seats and steering wheel are nice. You can set the climate system to heat or cool the driver only and it has a heat pump to use less battery power.
The range indicated 170 km with the battery at 85% when we left the dealership, so the 200 km range announced seem spot on. With a CX of .24 this car range seem far less affected by the speed than the Leaf. I did 20 km, half of it on highway at 100-120 kph and after 20 km the indicated range was 150.
I see that as a great commuter car.
