Ordered some new gear from fortnine.ca (helmet, gloves, boots).
Too bad the weather is crappy for the rest of the week. But the season is just starting!
And I am still married after the purchase!  :)

Ha yeah, put insurance on my bike last week.  Got 2 days.  Now grounded for 2 weeks about.  Seriously 2 degrees in the mornings and rain.  So brutal.

I've bought a few things from fortnine but honestly the local shops match the price and are well... Local.

I got five gloves at Kanata Honda they beat fort nines sale price all I had to do was say "can you do better than this price?"

Icon stuff at powersports on hunt club is same price as online.  Good time centre carries revit which fortnine does not, and their revit pricing is better than revzilla by quite a bit!

Fortnine now only if nobody has stock of what I want.

Also they carry a better variety.

My local dealer matches prices too, so I just bring in a print-out of whatever item I want, that I find online with the price, and they match it. Usually it's in the next day since the warehouse is 70km away.

Agreed.  I've ordered from fortnine this year and in the past.  I've even ordered from Rocky Mountain ATV recently when the local store and fortnine didn't have what I wanted.  For the most part, the local shop has what I need and prices are competitive.  I've noticed this with car parts/accessories also.  I used to order stuff from the states, but I've noticed the dealers in town are very competitive with their prices.  Never used to be that way.

You guys are lucky, motorcycle shops in Kelowna mark up stuff like crazy. Except helmets, the helmet I bought was lower than Fort Nine and I knew it fit me.

That's surprising; they should know better with eCommerce today.

With markups on clothing and accessories and parts being so high and the same items being available online at lower prices, dealers that are able to adapt would know that keeping customers coming in for these items are key, even if it means taking a small hit on the margin.

Thing is, when ordering multiple items together, it is easier to do it online when you know the stuff is available and you get free 2-day shipping.

I simply don't have time to go from place to place finding exactly what I want in the right size and colour. Ottawagoodtime had the helmet I wanted some $15 cheaper on clearance than fortnine but it was the wrong colour. They did not have the boots I wanted nor the gloves. Since I was able to find everything I wanted at very competitive prices at one place and everything will be delivered to my house in one single package by Monday, this means I can spend more time with the kids and start riding on Tuesday.

I will get a 15% OFF coupon at OG so I may find something specific to my bike or some maintenance items. So I will support local, too.
