My guess is DOA.

I don't see the Apple/Android as being huge problems so much as the hard to live with compromises in the name of styling.

My mother in law still loves her CX 3 and actually got a 2017 this week to replace her 2015 (must be nice to lease).  She's the only person I know who drives one that isn't bothered by the massive blind spots.

I have 3 files of drivers of CX3s who have hit pedestrians in Ottawa in the last year and a half (in part) because of the thick A pillars (and also because they didn't pay good enough attention to the road and their surroundings).

They all traded in theirs for other cars with better outward visibility.

I see nothing compelling over this thing. Get a Corolla, or, if you want a Hatch, go the iM route. Simple.

This odd box is hardly a "Crossover".

Have to agree with No-san.  A person would be better off going with the corolla or the iM.  I'm okay with radical styling as I know some people will love it.  What I don't like is the lack of a AWD or a manual.  Oh and no turbo motor option (like the Kia Soul or Nissan Juke).

There is zero chance I'd ever look at this as a possibility.  If I'm looking at a sub-compact CUV I'm going to Subaru to buy one of their Crosstreks.

count me in the group of "hates overstyled" vehicles...this vehicle makes the new Atlas look rather handsome.  ;D

We are still waiting for a replacement for my wife's tall sitting 04 Vibe.  The Soul is too boxy, the Juke looks weird in the front, the iM and most other hatch backs are too low and thus hard to get in and out, the CX3 is too small, and the Honda ?? is, well, forgettable.  This C-HR might be just the thing.  It is futuristic looking with a definite cool factor, sits nice and tall, and is, as is the indestructible Vibe, a Toyota.  We shall wait a little longer and see how it fits.

Exactly the problem I have with my Mazda 3 as well.  Blind spots large enough to hide either pedestrians or anything smaller than a cube van in the side view mirror.  Mazda drivers call what I do the "Mazda head bob" since your head always has to be bobbing around to check the numerous blind spots.

I think this will sell well. Maybe even very well.

Sadly, consumer tastes keep moving towards CUV/SUV type things.

baffles me as to why in a vehicle of this design and the claustrophobic rear sear area, why it has a black headliner, a light coloured one would make such a difference.

I wouldn't want to sit in the back seat of this thing for any distance, it would feel like your siting below ground, it would be terrible for kids, and they probably couldn't reach the door handle to get in either.

It doesn't seem like much of a deal in its basic form compared to many other vehicles.  We will see how it does on sales when he comes to market. (no sales in US or Canada yet)

Fixed that for you.

But agreed that the C-HR really doesn't have any defining attribute to make it stand out against the plethora of tall hatchbacks out there.

Yeah...the Nismo one actual does a decent hot hatch impression.

A couple reviews I've read said it was among the best handling of these types of vehicles.

That's definitely something for the people who care about that.

The Juke is a MAJOR hit in funky-liking Europe, so everbody's scrambling to offer something in this segment. I also thing the styling is excessive to the point of becoming a safety hazard (needs a periscope), but then again I applaud Toyota for daring something like this.

Keep in my that the competition is also pretty wild, and that buyers are swallowing it up:
