Looks good...except for the backrest.

Looks funny and ruins the lines.
It's coming off.  I'm actually going to make a bracket so I can use it on the front seat.

And if I have a passenger I'll switch it over, just a couple of bolts.

I saw that.  That bike was for sale in Oct for 10500 by the owner.  I was going to lie ball him then it was gone.

Then reappeared at a dealer last week.  Looks like he took a low ball because I can't imagine the dealer paid more than 8500 which is what I was going to offer  him.

It's a good price, listing says piggy shocks but I don't see them in the pic.  Those are a grand alone.

I have a feeling the dealer will add a bunch of admin fees though.

But yes you should buy it :)

I wouldn't. A backrest on your seat is a bad plan. Not only for getting and off the thing, but also it won't help your riding comfort, and may impede your movement while riding.

Funny, 5 other guys told me a backrest was the best thing since sliced bread.  They wished they had put it on 20 years ago but didn't because of the vanity.

It won't cost me more than $10 to try it, so I'm going to try it and see if it's good or not.

What were those guys riding?
Doesn't look like you'd be able to lean back enough to use a backrest, maybe if you put apehangers on it.  ;D

Nice bike, reminds me of the VRSCR Harley Street Rod

Harley's.   Would only be used to stretch on longer drives me thinks.   We will see.

Looks like good fun to make it.

I like it.  Actually I didn't know of the existence of this particular model.  A refreshing change from the baroque styling of some of Victory's other models.

So I removed the passenger backrest today.

Then painted the bolts flat black to match.  Why would they use stainless coloured bolts on the black trim pieces?  Such a simple change makes a huge difference.

Maybe they actually were stainless, because rust.   Black oxide still rusts.
I've replaced a bunch of screws on my GPZ with stainless.

They were stainless I think.  But why not coat them?

Because Victory ran out of black screws and budgets.  ;D

Small company. Likely used the same screws on the flashier, less stealthy bikes.
