I still like the key code entry system ford has been using for years.  Just leave the keys and wallet in the car while I'm kayaking, or hiking and dont have to worry about losing some expensive trendy device.  The jaguar bracelet is not a bad idea if its waterproof, but it's still something that can get lost and im sure jaguar would want a big bag of money to replece one.

Kind of funny you say that.  Probably the system I hate the most.   Just looks awful.  And I don't think they do it anymore, in-laws new Escape Titanium doesn't have it.

I'm not sure if Ford/Lincoln still use the key code system but IIRC the later iterations of it were completely invisible until you touched it......and then it became illuminated.

Wonder how that works in the freezing rain?

They still do it. And your in-laws' Escape has it.

I see, it's not on the metal part anymore.  It's on the black vertical trim.

FWIW, Mazda also used to use the card key - BIL had a 2007 (iirc) RX-8 with it.

Great idea, but then again I typically have other keys that I need - especially when living in a condo.

Those wrist bands don't come with the car - they cost a few hundred bucks, btw.

A key fob needs to fit into my pants pocket.  Otherwise, it is bloody useless to me regardless of how many features it has.

I miss my previous Mazda's keyfobs.  With the key in the fob, push the button and it comes out.  Prefer that to the push to start "feature".
