i would rather have the key-card. probably easier to store, and since you never have to take out your key out of the pocket anyway nowdays, i would rather it be as flat as possible.
No fobs, no fancy features, about $4 to replace....sorry, all of these are liabilities.

Fobs: The BMW looks very cool, but will surely be a $1,000 replacement when it dies in 3 years. I like the Volvo aesthetically.
I (accidently) broke one of those GM keys off in the ignition of my beater Sierra pickup in university. Made it one of the first "keyless" start pickups.
