. I’m sore AF today being my first ride of the season, and possibly the last.

Remember when you were in your 20s and you'd ride with fractured bones and such like "no biggie". LOL [emoji38]

How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

Got out for dig with Junior on Saturday. Beautiful weather.

Gorgeous scenery!
Wokeism is nothing more than the recognition and opposition of bigotry in all its forms.  Bigots are predictably triggered.

Nice!

Looking at the forecast here, I figure I have a 50/50 chance of getting out for my first and last and only ride of the season.

Also probably my last ride on the bike, ever, as I’m back to thinking I should sell it in the spring. Pretty sure I haven’t ridden it since fall of 2021. Just keeps feeling dumber and dumber to keep it around.

I've been thinking the same Heli.  Three rides the last two seasons.  To be honest I didn't feel real comfortable the whole ride, losing confidence/capability between rides that are so far apart.  My 17 year old sure makes me look like a beginner.
Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction, and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives.

I guess the nice thing for me is that I always feel comfortable on it when I do get back on. I’m still riding singletrack on the mountain bike all summer, so lots of the skills carry over.

Definitely more sore after a day on the dirt bike though!  :rofl2:

Yup doesn't make sense to keep it if you are not using it. If you change your mind in a few years then you can buy a new one.  ;D

I had the opposite problem. I was piling the hours on the 501 which I have heavily modified for adventure travel so I need another bike (the new TE300) to take some of the load off of the 501. I think I put 50 hours on the 501 this year and about 20 on the new TE.

^^ Wow, nice!

I’ve put 1,600 km on the mountain bike since I bought it in July 2022. Not too bad considering I’m away a lot for work. Just not enough time to ride them both.  :-\

Exactly, somethings got to give. I ride with a few guys that drifted away for a few years (downhill mountain biking) and then have come back. There isn't time for both.  If you don't get a solid price for your dirt bike I suggest making it street legal as a 2-stroke super moto to terrorize the streets of Canmore...  ;D This winter's project is to add a rudimentary dual sport kit to the TE300 so I have maximum flexibility.

It has been a glorious fall. The leaves have all fallen making the traction a little sketchy but the ground has not frozen yet so it's still game on. Spent some time doing single track laps solo on some hidden stash. No riding pics but the beavers have been busy flooding this valley. Looks like they have a nice setup for winter.

There was a single track there earlier this summer. Best the beavers split the valley though as it reduces traffic.

Looks great, and yeah the weather’s been phenomenal!

Went hiking on Friday and mountain biking yesterday and today. Wife is working tomorrow so think I’ll drag the dirt bike to McLean and see if it still runs!  :rofl2:

Well, that didn’t turn out as planned. Wife’s phone rang this morning with news of a family emergency, so we’re both on a plane right now heading to Quebec.

May or may not be home before the weather turns ugly. Oh well. No worries about the bike at least: tank was drained last fall and pretty sure I drained the float bowl too.

I could take it out for you.  You know, just to make sure all the parts are still working.

Had an auxilliary gear shift indicator added to the Monkey (web photo), and Saddlemen tail bag as well.

Getting to be that time when any next ride could be the last of the season. There's another meetup at Rob's in Georgetown this weekend - hope the weather holds.

Interesting although wouldn't you know inherently what gear you  are in on a modestly powered bike?

Well, in a (very  :rofl2:) modestly powered bike you change gears a LOT more, both up and down - so it's easier to lose track.  On a more powerful / torquey bike you can ride around town in 3rd all day every day.  One of the things I like about the Monkey is getting to use all that each of the 5 gears has to offer with regularity.
