No leaning would be a big thing I suspect. They'd steer quite differently I'd imagine. I likely would not own one myself but would love to give someone else one a go.
Yes, steering, leaning and cornering took some getting used to.
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

Honda Powersports showroom was pretty jam packed with new bikes.  At least 90% had SOLD signs on them.

Meanwhile, the adjacent car showroom:

Not sure what new car sales staff do all day.  ???

Strange that whole powersports setup. Rototillers placed beside street bikes. Portly middle aged men in white Honda golf shirts who have no f'n clue about motorcycles. Calgary still has a Honda power center (no cars) but the Honda's seem to be back in motorcycle shops.

Doesn't strike me as strange.  ??? A riding mower and a motorbike are two things that one customer might want. The guys buying Africa Twins definitely have yards.

As for the sales staff, that certainly doesn't describe this dealership or the one I bought my bike from. To be fair, the guy I bought from in Hamilton was definitely portly and middle aged - but he's been riding since I was about 6 years old and definitely has a clue about motorbikes. The guy we bought my wife's Monkey from is probably half our age, and rides a CBR650R and a Grom.

Generally, I have found motorcycle stores have MUCH better informed staff than car stores. YMMV.

Definitely a different approach Did Honda not stock any off road offerings in their power centre? Can't see any in the picture. ?? Perhaps that is why I see Honda off road stuff back in the motorsports store.

Yeah there was a long row of dirt bikes and such right behind me in the window facing the parking lot.

While I wouldn't make such a directly lateral move, the sport bike version of my naked bike was really giving me the feels.

100% true, most of the car salesmen I've dealt with were kinda numpties. The motorbike guys were well informed and straight to the point.

Understandable during these times...

Due to the chip shortage, so they say. Maybe companies should not have all their eggs in one basket or country.

It's a good looking bike - checked out quite a few of their offerings at the bike show. Some of the best looking retro bikes, with great use of colour. Just don't know that they have my confidence on the build quality / reliability side of things.

Would love a Royal Enfield Hunter 350

Enfield's typically have terrible build quality. I remember a magazine or website testing a Himalayan and a foot peg fell off..while he was riding it. LOL [emoji38]

You feel like repeating your Suzuki crash??

I was just going to say that. Enfield's to me are a 20/20 bike.

I think they used to be. Everything I've read says the newest ones are of much better quality.

If you want the retro cool look while tooling down to the coffee shop it would be ok but if going on a serious adventure in the middle of nowhere? Suzuki DR650SE please.

Doesn't look that retro IMO.

I owned one.

I owned one.

air cooled single
vertical cylinder geometry
conventional front forks with rubber baffles
dual rear shocks
dubious build quality
thin steel wall bars

It certainly isn't modern but you are right not retro classic either. What is the word I am looking for?  Cheap, yeah that's it. Nothing wrong with a cheap bike but ya gets what ya pay for.

Are these much more?  ;D

DR650 doesn't have dual rear shocks
