^^ Nice.

Hey, were you and your posse parked on Lakeshore / Allen Sunday around 11 am? I was in the area visiting my dad and drove by and I swear that was your ride.
I love it when a plan comes together.

 Wasn't me but these bikes are pretty popular - I've seen quite a few on the road.
Wokeism is nothing more than the recognition and opposition of bigotry in all its forms.  Bigots are predictably triggered.

Beautiful!

I’ve only been out on the dirt bike once this year so far, which is really sad. Have a ride planned this weekend with some buddies and our kids. Will be a blast and I’m looking forward to it. However, I’ve been contemplating selling my bike. I likely didn’t do 20 hrs last year and won’t hit that this year. And with my boy that rides being 16, our time together riding will become less. I guess we’ll see what the rest of this year brings.
Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction, and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives.

Thanks!  And I guess it comes down to what it's costing you to keep the bike versus how much enjoyment you're getting out of it.  And also consider what the cost would be to get back into the game, so to speak, if you decided you wanted to ride more at some point down the road.

Every bike I sell I regret it. Don't sell the bike you will age faster. Turn it into a dual sport and ride from the garage.

Wish we could do that in Ontario.

I’ve read that it’s now impossible in SK.

The only way is if you buy brand new and find a dealer that can switch a VIN character so that's it appears as street legal.  It's how I got my XR650 and DRZ400E legal.  The catch was that for the dealer to switch a character there marque had to have BOTH a street and dirt model. (XR650R, XL650R, DRZ400E, DRZ400S  Used?  Nope.  Once it's licensed as off road, that's it.   Heard it's possible but there's so much red tape and it's so onerous guys give up.

I have heard stories of guys squeaking certain bikes through that didn't have a street model....but again...generally from new.

I asked every dealer in Ontario if they'd street license one of these and it was a hard NO.

hmm too bad. We have some KTM 300 XC-Ws running around on the street. If the safety stuff  (lights, brake switches and mirror) is there it is good to go.

^^ IIRC Alberta is somewhat like rrocket said above. If you buy a new bike and can convince a registry agent to register it as Motorcycle (street legal) you’re golden. But once a bike is in the system as OHV (off-highway vehicle) you’re screwed.

Key was buying a new bike and finding a registry agent who didn’t know what they were doing (or could be bribed  ;) )

Or at least that is my understanding. Never did it myself, so maybe there are other ways.

That's pretty much it.

I do see the occasional KTM 300 legal in Ontario. But because of their unicorn status they command huge money.

One of my first KTM 300 EXC came with the road bits (lights, horn) in a box. I was a fool for getting rid of that street bike.  ;D Looks road legal to me officer.

Have you seen the GPX TSE250R?

Stroked version of the Yamaha DT/WR200.

Cheap 2 stroke dual sport. About $6500 CDN. Almost worth it if you could buy new and have it street plated

Yeah I have seen them, would still rather pay more for a KTM/Husky/Gas Gas. The old 300 in the picture was absolutely hammered on for 15 seasons. I raced it for at least 8 of those years and it held up really well.  A 220 lb guy riding in anger tends to stress the components...  ;D  Plus I try to avoid things produced/associated with China.  cough cough Volvo.
