With the bike surrounded by a wall of snow and ice.....I hate looking in here  :'( :'( I miss riding oh so very much.

I'm with you here.  I spend more time than I care to admit sitting in my freezing garage, staring at my bike.  :-[

Buy a garage heater. Buy more bikes. Work on bikes during winter. That is what I do.

Undergoing Harley conversion therapy at the bike show.  It didn't take.  ;D

But seriously, if I were somehow forced to ride a Harley I'd probably choose this one.  Way more compact in person than I was expecting from the pics.  Other than the forward controls (and weight) it didn't feel completely alien.  At $18k, it's cheap for a Harley.  Problem for anyone looking beyond the brand though, is what $18k will buy you elsewhere in a sporty naked bike.

If I wear one of those hats, will I be as handsome as you?  I doubt it, but it's worth a try.

First ride of the season.  I'm grinning like a fool.  Winter never felt so long.  Some rust on the riding skills (such as they are) but not as much as I feared.  Oh, and I FREAKING LOVE MY BIKE!

How do you still have ice in your back yard? My backyard is mostly bare other than the south section behind the camper. Maybe store your bike in the opposite side next winter.

The south side of the yard, along the fence has a five foot swath of snow and ice thats been stubbornly refusing to melt. Should be able to get it out this weekend. Can't park it on the other side as this has a nice concrete platform and the other side is all muddy grass.

I have a garage you're welcome to store your bike in as well next winter. I will even rotate the battery tender.

Naw, it’s basically a mountain biking trip but I brought the dirt bike just to sneak out for rides when I can. Didn’t bring the rack to carry the bike on the back of the Yukon, so I’m basically limited to rides that start from our campground. But that includes the Sovereign singletrack and a bunch of nice ATV/Jeep trails, so I’m happy enough.

You are doing it wrong.
