Pick up a used one that's like new for $5k?

Yikes that one didn't see much use. That kind of price differential is more compelling. Cheers.

So, ya, mileage is low but for $1,400 more you get a brand new bike with some warranty.  That doesn’t seem like much of a savings to me.

Welcome to my world looking at 10 year old CRVs with 180k kms for $15 000 ;D

Yeah that deal is the best one I could find on Kijiji for a new-ish 390. Lots of peeps asking more dough for higher mileage bikes. Why the heck anyone would pay over $6k for a used 390 is beyond me - but plenty are asking that much. If this one could be had for $5k, that would be a decent alternative to new. Because my guess is I could expect somewhere around $0 off the new bike.

PS, saw a heavily optioned NOS 2018 Duke 690 ... for $10k  :o

My buddy's Kawi Z800. Bike looks so sick every time he pulls up on it.

Here's one for $4500 obo, 2015 with only 3900kms

This is $1k less than new, but that would cover your insurance for the first year ;)

The 2016 and older 390 Dukes had undersized cooling systems. I test rode a 2016 and the temp gauge would often get up there when idling. The 2017 and up solved this plus it has the full colour gauges with Bluetooth smartphone connectivity for phone calls, music, and navigation.

^great looking bike!

I REALLY dig the looks.  Not the sportiest in the 600cc segment, but maybe the most beginner-friendly.

Who in the GTA has a dirt bike to loan or rent to me?  C'mon now.  Someone must be risk averse enough to loan a dirt bike to a total stranger.  What could go wrong, right?  ;D

Its the GTA, just do the proper local thing and steal one  ;D

That is a great looking bike!!

Absolutely killer in person. Almost identical in style to its big brother Z900 in the pic below.

Oddly, it felt even more narrow and lower to the ground than the Duke 390. The Z900 fit just a bit larger than that Duke. The Z series are much more compact in person than they look in pics. On the Z650 I was flat footing with a bend in the knee.

Z650 feels very manageable.  Tied with the Trident for "this feels facking perfect when sat upon".  Lower seat, and just as light as the Trident.

:rofl2: The insurance peeps won't talk to me until I have my M2.  The dealership did offer to store it for me until that time, though. Definitely getting a "bird in the hand" feeling with this whole purchase ordeal.  With supply fairly thin across the board,  putting the cart before the horse is starting to make sense.
