Maybe they were just old? . My current set of Kenda Parker DTs went on like butter (well not that solid recent canadian stuff lol)  and they are much stiffer than trackmasters. The worst but still not bad for off-road are the Michelin deserts. I find the hardest part is threading the tube valve in the front if I don't have a valve snake. The stubby/chubby fingers don't help.

Here is a fast change. He is cheating with the fancy stand and endless irons but 1 1/2 minutes with a bib mousse insert is nothing to sneeze at.

Finally got the new tire(s) on!

Bridgestone Battlecross X30 for me, and moved my 1 season old Dunlop AT81 to my son's bike, to replace his perished front tire.

And put in some HD innertubes.

My hands and shoulders still ache, my god what a job...

What is with all the pi$$ing and moaning regarding spooning tires? It should take no more than 5-10 mins tops. More than that or using force means you are doing in wrong. Get the opposite side bead in the center of the rim and the rest is gravy. I spoon tires all the time with 2  10" aluminum motion pro spoons. Almost no force. WTH are you all doing lol?   ;D

That was the whole point, I wanted to get better at it, now I know the technique it's a bit easier.

Party of my issue was that my tire irons weren't thin enough, so I couldn't get them into tight gaps. The Motion Pros spoons make it so much easier. So yes, with the right tools it's not bad at all. I knew that from watching videos, so I wanted to learn rather than pay a shop.

Choosing a car based on reliability is like choosing a wife based solely because she is punctual. There is more to it than that...

Makes sense. Perhaps I sounded like a prick and I didn't mean to. I practiced a bunch at one point when we though we were going to an ISDE so now it is just second nature.  My whole point is to emphasize technique and if you need force something isn't right. Just think it through and it will all fall into place.  In a pinch on the trail I have been able to pull a tube with a stick and two mini screwdrivers when someone forgot the tire irons lol.

Wokeism is nothing more than the recognition and opposition of bigotry in all its forms.  Bigots are predictably triggered.

A friend picked up this beautiful 37 year old survivor from its original owner to do a restoration.  1984 Kawasaki GPz 750 Turbo.
