Speedmasters seems pretty cheap on the second hand market in comparison to other Triumphs. I like the T100 and T120s myself.

Sorry man.
I have authorization from head office already except, she wants one too.
Timing has been discussed however, it's not near term. >:(

Do you realize that in about 30 (updated as requested) years, we'll have millions of old ladies running around with tattoos?

Last summer I was talking about getting a more road-friendly ADV bike.  My wife doesn't want me driving on the streets any more than I do, so I stuck a pin in it...
So glad I found a dual-sport riding group, getting my kicks in the dirt is more fun anyway. ;D

I'm not giving up yet.  And now I have the excellent additional argument "But,... but... TED'S getting a bike, why can't I?"  :rofl2:

Regardless, I'm taking the course and getting licensed.  Are you already licensed?  What type of bike(s) are you looking at?

Bikes and Christmas trees.  ;D

Nice!!

are they coming out with a smaller africa twin? like a 750 or something

Couldn't you just take an NC750 and modify it a bit? Knobby tires, raise the front fender...Africa Twin Jr:

Honestly, I'm tempted to get one if I get another bike...much as I'd love an MT09/10...or something of that ilk...I might be too dumb to ride something that makes me think I'm 19 again.  And, the NC750 gets 3.3l/100 or better...feckin' insane!

Every time I start to think about getting a bike again... I think about this... I was at the golf course that VERY day after this happened in the morning. Hole #4 is right beside where the accident occurred, the bike (BMW 1200GS) was split into two, forks & front wheel were about 60ft away from the rest of the bike, clothes were strewn across the road, helmet was laying on the ground on the shoulder and as we played that hole I almost  :hurl:

The guy driving the tractor died a week later in the hospital.

Don't give up man.

My wife thought she wanted to ride too....but mostly found the reality to be removed from the fantasy.   I've been riding forever and controls are second nature while everything was new to her, just learning the basics, even on backroads was stressful in some ways.   Couldn't imagine learning in traffic.
So, her DR200SE mostly sits, I've put far more miles on it than she has.    She is however a great passenger and loves leaving the controls to me so she can relax and enjoy the scenery.

She did do a couple of laps on the little green RV50 though and thought it was fun ;D

So I'm pretty broke going through divorce, dating sucks, I need to be the master of my own happiness.

So I'm buying a motorcycle for $1300.

Hints:
  • Fuel injected
  • ABS brakes

You guys are lucky. My wife very reluctantly accepted the whole idea of me on a bike and has less than zero interest in getting her own and even less interest in being a passenger.
Lighten up Francis.....

I have to agree with her on one point, being a passenger sucks; You could not pay me enough to do it.
