Roost, tree limbs, birds, pheasants...you name it!

I thought I broke my foot once hooking the tip of my boot on a tree root buried by leaves.

Got hit with some bigger bugs up north - can feel them at highway speed. No dramatic stories yet. A buddy of mine got a live bee in his helmet a few years back.  :o

Another beauty day riding at my buddy’s cabin near the South Saskatchewan river. He showed me a section of really tight single track the the quads hadn’t gotten to yet. He was on his KDX 220 and me on my CRF450R. He’s a much better rider than myself and he couldn’t get away from me. The big MX bike isn’t as bad in the trees as one would think. I have been lusting over Bobs new 300 though.

Real nice country. You can muscle a big bike almost as fast as a small one in the tight stuff it just takes a lot more energy to do so. I am a little slower (5%?) on the 501 with desert tank than the 300 in the real tight 1st/2nd gear stuff but what I do notice is how much more it takes out of me.

When I was peak riding form, I'd muscle around my HRC kitted XR650R.

No way I'd consider that now....there's just no way.

My usual trails have been blocked off, so I went looking and found some even more awesome trails near me.

Loving this bike, it's so good.

Choosing a car based on reliability is like choosing a wife based solely because she is punctual. There is more to it than that...

^^Looks fantastic, Bob!  Glad you're digging the bike...it surely is one of the best, if not THE best off road bikes available.

Why were your usual trails blocked off?

Looks awesome. BTW you have some sort of bark buster mounted? Can't quite tell from the photo. Try to get this as parallel as possible to the ground or it is going to twist on your first real tree smash. Maybe it's just the angle.

Yeah, hard to tell. Looks like maybe just the roost guards that came with the bike?

In which case, it doesn’t really matter. Either they’ll break on the first real tree smash, or your hand will break, or probably both.  ;D

Ride long enough and you will see it all. We came across one guy in a group whose buster rotated and crushed pinning his wrist to the bar. He couldn't remove the hand until the bar was pried back. Lesson: don't cheap on busters and get one that mounts to the steering head rather than the bars is preferable.
