I agree.  I really wanted a really good MTB, like $8K-$10K good. But can't believe that's nearly the same price as my KTM. Doesn't make any sense at all.

Choosing a car based on reliability is like choosing a wife based solely because she is punctual. There is more to it than that...

Yeah, it’s crazy. What’s even crazier is that there’s a “Founder’s Edition” I missed earlier. Only $19,999!  :rofl2:

Powerful electric motorcycles would tear up the MTB trails. They Have no business there.

E-Bikes can’t spin the rear wheel. You just get to the level of World Cup riders.  ;D

I climbed Mont Ste-Anne by the access road with full assist. On Strava I was 3rd overall, right there among pro’s. Then I reclassified my ride to e-Bike to get out of this classification where I did not belong.

Absolutely right. Panorama ran a few motorcycle harescrambles oon their mountain. What motorcycles do well is burn in a trail with minimal effort. What the crew did was flag a virgin trail and after a few hundred dirtbikes went through they had a new burnt- in mtb trail.
So use the motorcycles to make a trail then tell them they can't use it and GTFO?

We burnt in the trails along the river years ago with our atvs. The looks some people walking the trails from different places.  STFU. If it wasn’t for us you wouldn’t have a trail to hike on.  ::)

Posted a couple pictures earlier in the thread of a spot I often ride to. First pic was from 2012, second pic was from 2016, so seemed like we needed a 2020 pic as well. From today:

And we were talking about covering the brake & clutch in another thread a while ago. Paid attention today, and turns out I’m only using one finger on brake and clutch, not two. I tried two fingers for a bit, and it felt awkward and horrible.

One finger is more than plenty to feather the hydraulic clutch on the KTM, and one finger is also plenty to lock up the front brake, at least at singletrack speeds (okay, maybe just my slow singletrack speeds ;) )

For the fast fire road stuff, yeah then I’d go to two fingers for the front brake for a bit more power. But then I’m not covering the brake, just moving to it when I need to.

Hell no!  :rofl2:

Tried it once, years ago, and got a fair way up. Possibly could have made it if I'd wasted all my energy and the rest of the day trying, but I didn't.

It's so rutted out now, I wouldn't even bother trying. Not my idea of fun.  :)

Erzberg? Maybe if I get a trials bike.  ;D

I have one riding buddy who's a CrossFit maniac. His idea of a fun ride involves lifting, dragging, and pulling the bike more than riding it. I don't ride with him much.  :rofl2:

Truly extraordinary skill those guys have.

Watched one where many of the USA Supercross stars (Mcgrath, Pastrana, etc) went to compete and the course completely kicked their asses.

I bet you and your buddies could do the Six Days of Michigan out my way. .

The World Police and Fire games ran a cross country motorcycle event that went up there. Absolute carnage and a hoot to watch. Most gave up. Years ago one of our local riders placed 5th in the Red Bull Last Man standing. This is an elimination race and this guy placed 5th best in the world in extreme enduro. He trained at Mclean.

The Suzuki turned over 10K kms yesterday. Most of them have been put on by me as I bought it with ~1,600kms on it a few years ago.

Yes, that was around 5k kms. I didn't do nearly as much last year. I was planning a bunch this year but it will have to be trips closer to home.
