When was the last time anyone sighted a Pony/Stellar on the road?
i'm not sure that's a fair question...when's the last time you saw a mid to late 80s anything on the road (that wasn't a "classic")...just a regular Chevy Cavalier, Pontiac 6000, Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla type...i'm not saying they were great cars in their time (they weren't), but aside from a few outliers, none of those regular cars have been seen on today's roads in a VERY long time.

Here in the west (Alberta), every day. Yes to all the above although the Pontiac 6000s are pretty roached out.

maybe the salty winters have that effect here...you won't see any of those here (and haven't for likely about 20 years).

I saw a 5th gen mid 80s Corolla sedan the other day. I think it’s getting to the point though that they could run but people didn’t want to drive them and/or put money into keeping it running anymore.

Say this driver '73 Valiant the other day. For sale cheaply too. I wanted to buy but apparently we have enough vehicles and no where to park it. :(

You should buy it, get it running & fix it up... then sell it to Bubba for a big profit

Already runs, drives and stops! Ahead of the game. My plan was to turn into into Homer's car from the Simpsons with a custom grill for beater challenge.

Was a little rattly and I figured I could squeeze one more ride before doing the top end. Apparently not.  ;D Seized on a long WOT uphill and skirt bits ended up in the bottom end which seized the motor.  Split the cases and did a bottom and top end.

Umm lots. :-X   7 seasons of racing and riding.  Probably 400-500 hours. It had been re-ringed once during that time. Bore had a bit of marring but was OK with a rehone. These 300 motors are tough to kill.

Someone posted this on Reddit, the OG of all maxi-scooters Honda Helix. It was an Elite stretched out about 14 inches and first sold in 1986, it was discontinued a few times in 88-91 and 02 before being officially retired in 07. It had quite the cult following and sold well alongside the newer and more refined Reflex from 01-07.

It was powered by a water cooled 244cc and had a top speed of 75 mph, which is probably about all anyone would want to go on 12” front wheels and 10” rear. Braking was from a front disc and rear drum. Storage was in a rear trunk which could hold maybe a couple of half or 3/4 helmets.

One for sale in Kelowna.

yup...my first bike was an Elite 250 scooter (as you said, the Helix was a beefed up Elite)...the Helix wasn't very popular though (in terms of units sold), at least around here...the Elite 250 sold ok, the 150 was a bit better, and the 80 was pretty uncommon too...it's hard to say, scooter sales period are typically pretty low, which is too bad...they really are great commuter vehicles, even if you can only ride them half the year.
