Edmonton had its first motorcycle fatality of the year. :’(

Edit: it was a road rage incident, road and weather conditions had nothing to do with the incident.

Looking for story details, nothing coming up.  You have a link?

I'm not surprised by this.  With the weather getting better and the roads in good condition now people are driving like rabid animals.  There was an older woman in a Ford Escape on the Henday yesterday just changing lanes as she pleased, even if there was a car directly beside her.  At least three people had to make pretty dicey moves to avoid a collision that I saw in the short time I was on the freeway.  ZFG.

With drivers like that we need autonomous cars!  ;D

since we're talking about bikes again, Triumph's new Speed Twin looks pretty sweet...$13,300 in black or $13,800 in red or silver (i like the silver one myself).

When you've lost the argument, admit defeat and hit the smite button.

This was from the people who rode with him, saying that the driver suddenly slowed down rapidly for no reason, straddling two lanes of traffic. So was it extreme negligence or road rage?

Police said a Dodge Journey was southbound on the Henday, when the vehicle slowed down suddenly and was straddling two lanes. A motorcycle then hit the back rear passenger side of the SUV.

I love it. I have to admit the Triumph line seems to have a large variety of very similar (but good) looking bikes. If I ever go bigger than my TU it would be a Triumph.

^^I like it....but have no idea why you'd spend that kind of $$ over a Duke 790 (or Triumph Street Triple)...other than nostalgia.  If that's the case, you aren't too far removed from Harley dudes...
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

You don't have to ride like that.

Go read some of the 790 reviews.  Knocking it out of the park.  Lightweight, comfortable, fantastic engine, etc.  I'll be surprised if it isn't Bike of The Year.

For me a motorcycle should have that "standard" look. The hybrid alien looking ones are of not a lot of interest to me. Performance is not the top priority (obviously with my choice of a 16hp TU250X). I know it is shallow and silly but I am ok with it.

There's going to be some more retro bikes coming from the Big 4....

Kawasaki has the W800 and W800 Cafe.  ~$10K

There’s the Vitapilen 701 related to the Duke if people want that classic look. Not sure how it compares $$$ wise.

I thought your TU250X would have more than 16 HP being fuel injected.

KTMs are known for hard seats...and it isn't THAT much cheaper at $12,466...don't get me wrong, the 20 year younger me would be all over this...looks to have about 103 HP and weighs about 400 lbs (that's nuts), but i'm not sure i'd enjoy such a machine today...keep in mind, i really like scooters.  :)

It does! I was 0.1hp off.  :rofl2:

Power   16.1 bhp (12.0 kW) @ 7200 rpm
Torque   12.54 lb⋅ft (17.00 N⋅m) @ 4500 rpm

It is an older, understressed design they added fuel injection to.
