When I was in high school I was 6', but I only have a 30" inseam, so kicking an uber-tall motocross bike was a challenge. Oh, and  when I was 15 I was only 125lbs. Yup, 6' and 125lbs. At least by the time I was finishing school I'd filled out and was a lot stronger. But, before that, kicking over those bigger bikes was "fun."

personally, i like the looks of the C400GT.

I sat on it at the motorcycle show, felt good. Looks really good too.
so, i've been looking more into this scooter and the more i look at it, the more i like it (since it is coming here, no word about the Forza 300 yet)...one interesting thing about these though, the engine used in the C400GT and C400X is "only" 350cc...the size doesn't matter, but not sure why the marketing department is calling it a "400", when it clearly isn't...the bikes should be labelled C350GT and C350X.
When you've lost the argument, admit defeat and hit the smite button.

The Duke 390 is actually 373cc. I don't know why "Duke 390" was chosen over "Duke 373"

Marketing is inscrutable sometimes.

I like it...but it doesn't really offer any special GT features. No power windshield, no heated grips, no cruise....I thought it would be keeping in line with the luxury emphasis of the 650GT.

Wish it had more and I don't think it will be cheap...

well, i kind of get that one...390 "sounds" better than 373, although i suppose 375 may have been a little more accurate...in any case, it's 17cc, so no huge difference...but 350 to 400...that doesn't make sense...i'm sure you can market 350 just as easily as 400, and that size difference is certainly quite a bit.

it is $8700 (plus freight, pdi, fees, etc)...also, you can add the "select package" (not sure of cost)...it adds heated grips, heated seat and security system...you can also choose the "premium package", which adds those plus coloured TFT display and multicontroller (i think that is smartphone integration, etc).

it doesn't have an adjustable windshield, but they have designed the windscreen to provide pretty good protection, and the front sides of the handle bars also have "deflectors" on them to control the airflow as well...it's too new, so i haven't seen any reviews of it yet, but hopefully in a couple of months they start coming out.

i wonder how reliable a BMW scooter is...i think i've only ever seen one around town, so it would certainly be somewhat unique or exclusive...not sure if that is a good thing or not though.

I just don't see why I'd want the BMW over the new Burgman 400...and the Suzuki it's bullet proof.

Yep...it got a complete redo in 2018.

Based on my experience with my 2012, I suspect I'd enjoy the 2018. Just wish these middle sized scoots had more luxury items..like the new Yamaha Tmax 530DX. I'd buy one in a heartbeat I think...

The Tmax 530 DX is it for me...all the luxury items of touring motorcycles costing thousands more...cruise control, power screen, heated grips, keyless ignition, etc

I want them to bring this here so bad....but I'd settle for the Forza!

Signed up for an indoor supermoto/minimoto training session next month. It takes place at the kart track I know well south of Strasbourg.

My friend got me signed up and was gracious enough to let me borrow his supermoto.

Never ridden one of those before.......hope it goes well.  :-X

He's a 2x FSBK Champ and will race the national Promosport series and World Endurance races this season . I'll see if I can't catch some flights to some races this season.

On an unrelated note he knows someone who's selling a track YZF-R6 for 5 k€.....I might bite !

Already signed up for a track day (+ rental). 16/03 at Circuit Lédenon (30). It's a challenge of a track apparently...... :bounce:

Off topic, but I do have to wonder, there's been a lot of new users lately. But what drives them to this site, considering that Autos.ca shifted to Autotrader quite a while ago ?

Because it's there.  They try to get into everything they can.   It's a never-ending job keeping up with them.
