Me too. Electric mower all the way. Quiet, maintenance free except for the blade, what's not to love?

As long as it doesn’t have a battery. I don’t mind the cord. No battery to wear out.

I had an electric mower form 1967 that my parents owned and it finally died last year.  I bought an inexpensive corded model to replace it, and have been happy.  I don't mind the cord at all.  I have a "top down" pattern so I mow away from the plug and it works like a charm.

With modern fuels you don't really need stabilizer any more.  But yes full tank.

I put Li Ion batteries in both the FZ-09 and the RC51, what a bloody difference!  Now just the CRF250L next.

You mean in weight, or??

Both weight, and cold cranking amps.  Everything starts first time even if it's been left in the cold for weeks.

The original battery in my dirt bike died a few years ago. I was tempted to go Lithium for the replacement, but it was more than double the cost, so I just got another stock battery.

The year after, I put a higher compression head on the bike and the stock battery didn’t have enough jam to crank it over. D’oh! Lithium has much better cranking power, so ended up replacing the nearly-new lead acid battery with a lithium anyway. Bike cranks fine now, and I guess the 2 or 3 lb weight saving is a bonus.

I managed to get a good 30%-40% off from fortnine at the time.  The garage down the road from me even had the stock battery more expensive than I got the LI ones for.

^^ Yeah, I just lived without the starter for a while until I found a good sale on a Shorai. Got it from Vancouver, IIRC. Wasn’t that expensive in the end.

Edit: I was curious, so went back and checked my receipts. The replacement stock battery (Yuasa lead acid) I first bought was only $45, so crazy cheap (and even free shipping!)

I don't have the receipt for the Lithium, but I bought it from baysideperformance.ca. I got the biggest one that would fit, which is currently selling there for $184. I can't remember exactly, but I think I paid around $160. There are smaller Shorais that would have fit and are cheaper, but I wanted as much juice as I could get. And there are probably other brands that are cheaper, but Shorai seemed like the preferred option.

Picked up a trickle charger / battery maintainer at Norauto today, hopefully that's enough. I decided against fuel stabiliser given our SuperPlus fuel here has no ethanol and if there's a warm spell, I might give the bike a whirl anyway. Plus my friend here told me I just need to top off the tank and remove the battery.

Should be just fine as it doesn't sound like it will be subject to extremely cold temps.

A couple nouveautés from Yamaha, also a refreshed Kawasaki ZX-6R in the latest issue of Moto et Motard. R3 and R125 both get refreshed, incl inverse forks, a sportier riding position (badly needed on the R3; R125 wasn't so bad); new tank, etc.....

Can't believe the R125 gets a slipper clutch !

*on a side note, you guys should get this magazine in Canada, there's a list price of 11,50 CAD along with intl sales prices.

Je sais pas. Quand je visitais les libraires Indigo il serait toujours possible à trouver des publications françaises, mais pas beaucoup.

I meant the Indigos I usually visited in Québec- which has been by far where I spend most of my time in Canada. And French is one of the my main operating languages outside of work.

The US is rather a bit of a mono-culture so of course publications were in English. Barnes & Noble had an English-translated version of GP Racing (Editions Larivière) but I struggled to find relevant much motorsport content in the US.

mlin.....better check and see if your bike is on the list...

https://blog.motorcycle.com/2018/12/18/recall-2/yamaha-yzf-r3-affected-by-two-different-recalls/
Yes, it's impacted by both but there is nothing to be done. In Europe there are fewer recalls. If it gets extended to the EU then I might consider getting it done. Man, so many recalls on this bike.......*shrugs* but no biggie.

It's hibernating for the winter and going forward will probably see only the occasional track day. I've been too lazy to get it registered and titled here.
