I have been busy getting ready for a two day enduro event in BC. The categories go from essentially street bikes riding two up to "almost impassable" technical off road riding. We signed up (two man team but could be up to four) for the hard stuff. Hopefully I am made of enough tough stuff to put two long days in the saddle. I have been trying to bulletproof the Husky and work on carrying essentials without too much weight. I am bringing a spot locator, bear spray and some fire building materials. I have been stuck before lol. I am really excited to see how this turns out. I have raced many cross-country and harescramble events but nothing like this.

Here is the start:

That looks like a whole lotta fun ktm. Good luck!

Have fun! Too bad they didn't make it three weeks later, I'm going to be in the area for a family wedding.

I didn’t know they had speed triples since the 90’s.

1994 was the first year.

Well we survived. To be honest the riding wasn't off the chart technical but there was some challenging bits. The fuel injection on the Husky was awesome as the altitude varied from 3000 - 8000' and the bike never skipped a beat. We rode 340 k kms in two days and I burnt through about 24L of fuel or about the same mileage as my Land Rover  ;D There must have been some WFO moments. The map I have loaded into the ECU may not be the most fuel efficient. On the road the knobbies were OK although a little loud. The gearing kept the speeds down to about 85 mph max.

A few pics attached, sorry for the quality they were shot with my old 5s which doubles as my GPS.

Last one! The KTM struggled a bit as it is set up for Baja. It has been bored out though so it is a 570 and it really chugged fuel due to being fat on the jetting.

So my friend thought it was incredibly cheap of my dealer not to deliver my brand new bike with a full tank of gas. I thought I got a great deal and was not going to nitpick over this little issue. It cost me $8.94 to fill it up at Costco the next morning. Thoughts?

would have been nice, but for $9, who cares...if you got the price you wanted and the bike is great, what's $9??...depending on the shop, they might not have fuel on site, so it would have meant driving the vehicle to the gas station to put $9 of gas in it...likely not worth it (would have cost them more in man hours)...personally, if i was happy about everything else, i'd gladly fill it up myself...that way, i can get the Premium fuel for it, not the cheapest :censor: they can find.

My Duke was tanked up. I can't remember if the others were.

It's a nice perk, but it wouldn't bother me if they didn't, as long as I had enough in the tank to make it to a gas station.

It's usually on the delivery checklist.

And I agree...it's a bad look giving you a new bike with the low fuel light on.

It is kind of cheesy of the dealer but $9 isn't even a rounding error on the transaction cost. Don't let it spoil a new bike experience.
