So, it looks like I will need to be working on my right wrist / forearm strength over the winter.

Wanker.

Well, that's one way!  :rofl2:

Cheers gents.

Nice picture.  Sore? Buy a cheap motorcross bike and ride it hard on the track. You will never complain about soreness again on a streetbike. ;)

Thanks guys, it was a lot of fun, haven't went on an a decent ride in months.

As far as the YZ250X goes, the boy loves it.  I spent some time on it.  The power delivery is very smooth for a 2 stroke and the bike feels light and playful.  The engine isn't smooth like my 450, but even most 450's aren't compared to the Honda (I've spend time on 450 Kawis, Yammies, and Suzukis).

A couple issues with the bike. The carb was leaking fuel through the overflow, but I have that sorted.  Float adjustment didn't help much but cleaning the seat did.  The more major item is the rear shock.  Its shot.  Dampening is almost non existent.  How I didn't notice this prior to agreeing on purchase, I don't know, but I'm a little miffed at myself and the previous owner.  Its not that big of deal, it'll get rebuilt, but just an item to deal with on a recently purchased bike.  Oh well, that's used bike purchases I guess.

Plans are coming together for September with two 4 day trips planned. The fires in BC have settled down , the school crowd is gone, we just need the snow to stay away. 8 full riding days out of 30 is a good ratio  ;D

odd it took this long...maybe it's just the first time you noticed it?

Possibly - but I have waived twice previously with no response (both Harley dudes).  This time the other guy waived first.  I don't know if with motorcycles it's like with bicycles, and riders of certain types of bikes only wave to their own, so to speak.  Road bike cyclists don't often waive to riders on hybrids, for example, but almost unfailingly waive to each other.

So I'm loving my Shoei GT 2 Air helmet.  Comfortable, quiet, excellent venting and the pinlock shield has so far eliminated fogging quite completely (which had become a hazardous problem on my Bell helmet on muggy mornings).  One problem though - the drop down sun visor is facking useless.  Because while the pinlock keeps the main shield fog free, every time I drop down the sun visor it is covered in condensation, leaving me essentially blind.  Any suggestions from anyone on this?

maybe...i'm trying to remember from my riding days...you may be right about the Harley riders, but if that's the case, it's likely the old school Harley guys.

Yep, the only time I don't get waves is from some Harley riders.

Roger do you have all the helmet vents open?

Only thin I can suggest is leaving the helmet in the garage so it's cooler inside.

I don't wave much if at all. Sometimes there are just too many riders, most times I am on gravel or dirt. Am I supposed to wave at the track?  ;D

Yep all vents open on the helmet.

And for waving I am referencing on road riding - I haven't done any other kind.

Yeah I don't bother on pavement either. What is the point behind it?

I confess to not being a big waver.

Though I did wave on the BMW to see if I could "trick" people into waving to a scooter.

Do you also wave to people when you drive your auto? Only friendly on the bike lol?  Do Porsche people still wave at each other?
