there might have been a change to some insurance companies recently regarding "sport bikes" so be sure to get quotes before buying anything...my boss's daughter's fiancé just sold his Ducati sport bike...34 years old, rode and licensed since he was 16...perfect driving record...insurance went from $2400/year to $6000...he decided not to renew and sold the bike...i bet if you live in Alabama you could get it for $300 and drive it year round...it's a racket in Ontario.

Good point.  Might as well inquire about the Tirumph now as a base line.  I can't really see anything displacing it.  I don't think it could reasonably be described as a sport bike, but insurance companies are weird.
i would imagine the Trident isn't going to be that bad...it's a street bike and the engine size isn't too big (660cc)...the Ducati was one of those actual sport bikes (1000+cc?)...now, if you bought the new Hayabusa, that would be another story.

State farm used to have 2 categories,  either smaller than, or bigger than, 600cc .     Every company makes up their own rules depending upon what demographic they don't want to cover.   My present auto company won't insure old bikes.
I just paid my bike policy today, $684

I don't think state farm take anyone with speeding tickets in the last x years do they? I'm oot!  :rofl2:

Choosing a car based on reliability is like choosing a wife based solely because she is punctual. There is more to it than that...

Which is weird because the same companies insure motorcycles in Alberta full coverage for $400-600 a year.

Yep.  Somewhat sucked.

My Duke 690 was about the same as a 'Busa to insure with them.
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

Those are some good looking lids.  Definitely the classic aesthetics for any retro bike.
Wokeism is nothing more than the recognition and opposition of bigotry in all its forms.  Bigots are predictably triggered.

People ride in the rain??

I usually wear ear plugs during my rides.

Not my cup of tea but to each their own.

Sometimes you just get caught in the rain.

If you have the right gear rain is bearable, I liked my Aerostich for that

Hail though, that's a real experience

I've ridden in hail of a few times - not deliberately. Its terrible especially as it builds up like snow on the road.  :-X

Have tried a few different iterations of rain gear over the years.

I have a couple I like. They pack down small enough to keep in the bike at all times.

The Aerostich stuff is nice as you don't have worry about taking rain gear on and off for every shower that might miss you or might soak you to the core. Also very well made, lasts forever, and good against road rash

Warm though, so I went to mesh gear/lined jeans after

My Alpinestars Mora jacket kept me dry for hours and warm down to -5. The zipper eventually failed though and the replacement zipper is not waterproof.

For pants, my Tourmaster Quest pants were great. Waterproof and too warm even.

Yep...that's my issue with most of those type of suits.

I've built my riding suit around this article:  https://www.webbikeworld.com/season-motorcycle-riding-outfit/

I know cruisers aren't exactly a group fave, but I love Indian's newly released 2022 (?) Chief.  It's like a grown up Scout.  Not sure what took them so long.  Before this if you wanted a bigger cruiser than the Scout you were stuck with a bagger.  I much prefer this.

Read this yesterday, Roger.

Surprised at how much they seem to like it.
