This fills me with want.

Thats all kinds of sexy and I don't usually like any kind of cruiser. I love the looks of that. I sat on a buttload of different bikes before deciding on mine. Everything from cruisers to ADVs to crotch rockets, hell, I even went to a Harley dealer, but all the leather made me feel like I was in the Blue Oyster bar scene in Police Academy lol. As for your first bike, a cruiser is good because of low seat height and tame power delivery, just its a lot of bike to manhandle about....and to pick up if you drop it.

Yup..weight can be a consideration.

That's another reason I suggest the Scout Sixty Bobber. 22lbs lighter, thousands cheaper, same looks.

I know if I bought that bike I'd have a  custom springer seat on order, ready to be installed once I got the bike.

That bike SCREAMS for the awesome retro style of a springer seat and would look facking amazing!

And a more correct bobber rear fender.

and if you like the cruiser feel, but want to upgrade in the power department down the road, there's always the Suzuki M109R (i love the looks of this bike, but it's a bit of a beast):

When you've lost the argument, admit defeat and hit the smite button.

^^^ That's pretty slick.
Wokeism is nothing more than the recognition and opposition of bigotry in all its forms.  Bigots are predictably triggered.

yea, it's a really nice bike, but it's also pretty heavy (765 lbs) and it's quite powerful too (i think it's around 130 HP and 118 TQ)...it's not the flat out top end that would be an issue as cruisers don't typically have high top speeds, it's moreso the size and weight...you'd get used to it, and if you're a big guy (say, 6'4" and 250+lbs), you'd like fit it quite well...but i'm only like 5'11" and 165lbs so while i could manage it, it would be a big bike...as well, for me personally (if i were going to buy something) i would only want it to zip around town, which is why i like scooters so much...a big bike like this would be overkill for what i'd actually want/need it for.

I really dig the older Kawasaki Drifter 800.

They did a great job styling it and the engine is good. And with a couple cheap mods (seat for example) you can have something really unique.

Subdued or bling

For muscle cruisers, I really like the Yamaha Road Star Warrior. Massive 1700cc mill, suspension and brakes lifted from the R1 and an aluminum frame.

I dig it!

i've never owned a kawasaki, but i do like their Z900RS bike.

also, for cruisers, their new Vulcan 900 Custom is nice too ($10,399):

personally, not a fan of the blocky look...that seat doesn't look overly comfortable either.

I should probably stop with all the newbie-latching-on-to-the-next-shiny-object thing ;D - but....

Damn!  :o

Can't say I prefer it to the Scout, but what is striking me as frankly odd is that the more I look around at different types of bikes from other brands, the more I seem to come back to Indian as my aesthetic fave.  I don't even like big boaty baggers - nothing fills me more completely with indifference than a Honda Goldwing, whatever its credentials might be.  But I like Indian's offerings in that category.

yea, the FTR is nice, that bike is also $20k (another reason why i like the Trident)...and if you get into riding and ever get a chance to test out a Goldwing, do it...they are amazing bikes...that flat 6 is creamy smooth with battleship levels of torque.

That Indian is gorgeous.
I've been thinking about a Ninja 650 as a toy. The price is right and not bad looking/riding.

I've been back and forth between that and a lightly used GSXR750
the Ninja 650 is actually a really good everyday bike...quick, but not stupid fast, relatively affordable and quite reliable.

i like that one too...it is more money, but only $700 more so not a big deal...i'm guessing we should see some reviews of the Trident out in 4-5 weeks.

I4 is worth the expense IMO..better sound for starters.

i don't think it has the VTEC bits that the CB400F Super Four has though, does it?

one things' for sure, i LOVE the 4 downswept pipes (4 into 1 exhaust).

No..it's basically the "old" CBR 600 mill...which was fantastic.

Parallel twins generally sound like turds...KTM790 being an exception because of its odd firing order to mimic the sound of a V-Twin.

Parallels are my least favorite sounding bike engines.

i don't disagree with anything you said here...but i still think the Kawasaki Ninja 650 and Vulcan S bikes are decent entry level/novice bikes...i would likely buy something different myself (for the reasons you've mentioned), but i wouldn't fault anyone for choosing them.

I tend to agree, although the twin in my Bonnie does have that low-revving put-put-put sound that suits the bike.
