Why not? I just drove a used 250cc bike 400kms home  :rofl2:

I'd be more tempted with a small trailer over truck bed if hauling it. Easier loading and better strap down spots.

On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

a couple of reasons why not.

for one, it's a new bike he's not familiar with, so he may prefer to stay in the city while he figures out all the stuff (i know i would)...also, for the break-in, it's better to have some mixed driving, not droning along at 120 for an hour...some stop and go city driving would be much better for settling everything in during the break in period.

A long highway drone isn't an ideal way to break in an engine.....

The familiarity isn't terribly bothersome.....not worried about that.

I do the Motoman break in method...which is opposite of a 2+ hour highway ride.

Well once you do the Motoman, it's good for a 2+ hour long highway ride is it not? Or just constant vary engine RPMs for 2 hours.  ;D

It's the Royaldistributing tent sale.  I'm picking up a couple friends along the way and heading to Oshawa tomorrow morning.  Anyone else go to these annual events?

Gonna also hit GP Bikes which is next door.

I'd want to be able to change the oil with some Amsoil afterwards...

Bring everything you need for that oil change. You're not going to win this one.  ;D

Yea, I'll just strap my oil, oil pan, tools, etc to the passenger seat and I'll be all set! LOL

just a wrench, a few paper towels and a few liters of oil...pull over onto the grass, drain the oil, fill it back up, continue your ride...the paper towels and oil are organic anyway...you're just putting it back in the environment.  ;)

It's only a litre or two of oil, I have this little dollar store container I use as the oil pan for my motorcycle because the automotive ones don't fit.  Or just do it at the dealer, they'll take the used oil.  ;D

A used 4L ice cream pail makes a nice affordable oil pan for a bike.  :)
