Thought about it but I'd be roaming often. Still, $75/mo for 10GB and a phone like an iPhone XR seems like a good deal.

I see Kelowna just got Freedom coverage finally.

I got my oldest kid on Lucky Mobile which runs off Bell's network, $25/mo for unlimited Canada wide and 1 GB of data if paying automatically every month (500 MB otherwise), but they also have $15/mo for 100 min/250 MB, $40 for unlimited/4.5 GB, and $50 for unlimited/8.5 GB. It's only at 3G speeds but the coverage is anywhere you get a Bell signal. Public Mobile (Telus) and ChatR (Rogers) offers the same plans and price points.

I wasn't going to get him a cell phone plan as he's only 10 but the ability to let him go play around the neighbourhood and know where he is is good peace of mind. When school is in session, I'm going to downgrade him to the $15 plan. The only thing he's allowed to do on data is message and Facetime us which is surprisingly efficient on bandwidth.  It's nice too that I can set all restrictions on his phone from my phone, and wiping his phone does not take those restrictions away unless I allow it. Only thing is that they only allow one downtime per day which I set for bed time, it would be good to have a second one for during school. Sent that feature request to Apple.

Do they offer any Family plans (like Rogers) where you share data between family phones? I didn't see it on their web site.
Or adding additional lines to a "big gig" plan?

Do you realize that in about 30 (updated as requested) years, we'll have millions of old ladies running around with tattoos?

There is saving for multiple lines , but did not see anything about sharing data

They brag that you get 10GB of your own data, no sharing required. Probably no sharing period.

Moved our cellphones to Freedom , cost will be $23 a month pay as you go , 1.5 gigs at LTE ,  unlimited Canada wide, and global texting
Once you hit the 1.5 they slow down the service and dont charge you for overages

prior to moving to Rogers a couple of years ago, we had Freedom for a couple of years...service was ok, but not as robust as Rogers, but the price was great.

Rogers service around here works quite well...our price is what i would consider "average"...we pay $122 all in for two phones, unlimited calls/texts/etc and we have 4 GB each phone for data...for comparison, our previous Freedom plans were about $80 all in for two phones with unlimited everything (data speeds may be lowered if you exceed 6 GB each phone, but we never used anything near that anyway)...it was a great deal.

no phones included...you had to buy something outright, or make use of the "tab" system (get a discount for an additional charge on your monthly bill)...that's pretty much the norm with all of them now, unless you get a pretty old phone.

I'm starting to look now for replacement phones (3) for our family and a family shared data plan. The two year deal is up now that got us 3 iphone 7's with a shared 10G data plan for ~$200. This is with Rogers who we've been with for 10 years now.
I see FS has a BELL deal now for iphone XR's and $330 cash card on certain plans.

Freedom hsa a free iPhone XR 64GB, Samsung Galaxy S10e, or LG G8 ThinQ on a minimum $75/mo plan which puts you in the 15 GB full speed data (reduced speed after that), or there's the Samsung Galaxy A10 or LG Q Stylo+ on a minimum $50/mo plan that gets you 10GB. There are a few in between options too.

https://shop.freedommobile.ca/devices?manufacturer=absolute_$0

My only problem with Freedom is only having 2GB of roaming data (outside Freedom zones). I use a lot of data...
