Was planning on replacing my Nexus 6P with the Pixel XL in the somewhat near future.........but now the new Galaxy S8+ has me very interested.  I've had Nexus phones for the last several years and love having the latest updates and no bloatware.  But I also like the fact that the S8+ offers wireless charging and is also waterproof.......might come in handy working in the new brewery.   ;D
Is it waterproof or water resistant?

If i recall correctly it is water proof to 1 meter depth for 30 minutes

Driving thrills makes my wallet lighter.. and therefore makes me faster because i'm shedding weight... :D

Yeah the unboxings of the S8 under water is pretty cool.

We have a Pixel at work, it looks like garbage compared to the S8.  So much wasted bezel on the front.  Like my One Plus more.

Everything looks like garbage compared to an S8, other than the very niche Xiaomi Mi Mix.

The iPhone 7 just screams "we ran out of ideas years ago" in comparison.

Been quite happy with my S7. Samsung has kept bloat fairly contained.

Some of their apps are actually quite good, just limited in functionality somewhat. That said I don't really use any of their apps ....

The S8 looks great.

Good to know.  Having used Google phones for the last several years I love having no bloatware installed, so it was a concern for me regarding the S8.

OK, ironically my S7 has started acting up. Lately it has been periodically dropping the data and voice signal. Says I still have 3 or 4 bars but cannot make any calls (Emergency Calls Only). Have to reboot to get it back at least until it happens again.

Thought it was the SIM so replaced that, worked fine for a week. But now its back......

Very annoying.

You don't need to reboot.

Just go in to "networks", search and choose your home network. It will re connect and all is well.

I've had this happen on occasion due to my close proximity to 2 US states.

Ebay seller had a pile of them, brand new.  International unlocked, was a 2 day thing 5/6th I think.  My coworker bought one.

Did some more looking around.  The S8 really is amazing ... smaller footprint larger screen.  I'm sure others will catch up, but it's the phone I would buy today if buying new.

The S7 Edge is pretty darn close though, it's nice.

Pre-ordered my S8+ this afternoon, should get it later this month.  Comes with a free VR headset and remote as well, doubt I that I will use it though.

The + is huge.  Larger than the iphone 7 plus

$359 with a renewed 2 year contract.  Yeah, sucks that it's locked.  I'm not used to a locked phone since I've had Google for the last three phones, so I'll be unlocking it for sure.

I've had the same number and with the same Carrier dating back to the Motorolla StarTac days...........no plans on going anywhere so a two year contract doesn't bother me a bit.   ;D

Same here, I thought about unlocking a few years ago, and trying different carrier.  None are perfect.  But Rogers still works best for me.  So, I don't bother unlocking.  Don't see any reason too.
