The XS camera is definitely better, but I’ve always thought the camera on my 6S is pretty darned good. Every picture I’ve posted on here in the past couple years has been from my 6S.

It doesn’t have a second lens like the XS, so no true optical zoom, but it’s easy to crop the photo in the phone for a zoom effect. Works pretty good in my experience, as long as you don’t get too carried away.

And it’s even okay in low-light situations, too.

Useless stat of the day:

Heard on a news blurb the other day that Android users spend 3 hours and change online with their phone daily.

iPhone users were online 50 percent more or so.

3 hours is too much.

What do you think about the latest MIUI version? On my phone, it works amazingly awful and I am pretty mad about that.
what is Miui??

Ive had a iPhone 6( maybe S dunno) and im disappointed l. The battery is crap and the photo quality are primitive compared to my wife galaxy 6..... by a mile.  I really like the IOS system but willing to look at other ones. I always had apple phones.
My contract is due ne next month and im considering a Huawei P20 pro..  just because of the camera performance l. I need to take a lot of construction pics and i feel like the iPhone is not good enough “.
You can get a new battery from Apple for $35 , the new battery been great in our phones
I have not found a problem with an iPhone with taking pictures for construction purposes
Cant really crop or zoom on a iphone6 l... The shutter is slow..etc. When i changed the battery, it was okay for couple weeks but went back to what it was.

Even if i get an older used galaxy..
Maybe look at one plus

….So  black Friday sales are coming... Maybe I'll change phones, maybe not.  I would like trying something else than an I phone.  The only other phone I looked at  was the Huawei P20 (not the pro) for the money it has the best specs. 128G, big 4400h battery(I think) and very good camera...Google phones are nice too.

So me and my wife are on the same plan.  She has an old Samsung Galaxy 6 I think and the has that amazing deal for unlimited canada and 10G for $60,  I have the I phone6 with unlimited canada and 2.5G for $80.

I was just at Costco  and with the new Huawei p20,  70$ month with 3G or $80 for 5G.  The phone is $250 but they have a $250 rebate so free.  So technically same price but new phone.  I would have to change provider as they do not carry telus (bell i guess).

I just phoned telus and I asked for 1 options
1- Keep my phone and get a better monthly deal.... no deal right now
2-they can do the P20 with 4G for $100 a month and the phone free too....

So righ now Costco is a better deal,  We'll see what deal comes in tuesday

^ Have you looked at Virgin?  I recently switched from Bell to Virgin.  Bell with 2GB was $110.  Virgin is 6GB for $55.  It was a no brainer, especially since they run off of Bell towers anyways.

I'll look at that for sure.  Virgin is one of the Costco supplier I think

Yep, they are.  I really didn't want to leave Bell as I've been with them since my very first cell phone (StarTac), but they couldn't match Virgin's offer.  Half price with three times the data was impossible to pass up.

technically, you didn't leave Bell anyway, as they own Virgin (it's their low cost brand).

Well just bough a new phone.  After going back and forth with TELUS, Virgin and Costco I think I got a good deal.

Got the Huawei P20 from Virgin. not the Costco booth but the one at the mall.
https://www.virginmobile.ca/en/phones/phones-summary.html#!/A3111992-3

I was looking at reviews on this phone last month and really liked what they had to say.  128G space, descent 3400mAh battery and very good camera with Leica lens(the low light and dynamic range is very good)  so the amazing deal sold me!

The deal was 2 year contract, the plan is 80$ a month for unlimited/6GB data.  The phone was $100 for it but the guy gave me a additionnal $100 discount t so free.  AND!!  a free smart watch (Huawei watch2).  it's for sale on amazon for $330 but can't find it anywhere else...heart rate monitor, build in GPS..etc.  I don't need one (nobody does lol) but hey, a cheapo like me will jump on that!

https://www.amazon.ca/Huawei-Watch-Carbon-Android-Warranty/dp/B06XDMCH6Z/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1542419277&sr=8-1&keywords=watch+2

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F3KMbZBl004

So all I had to pay was a $35 connection fee and then My monthly fees.

I played with it a bit and I can tell the diference with the camera vs my iphone 6s.  Now have to learn the Android platform since i always had iphones.

So a few months ago I dropped my Galaxy S9+ in my work's parking lot and shattered the screen.   The phone still worked, and responded to touch inputs, and not wanting to pay the $400 for a new screen, I bought a screen protector (I know, I know, should have had one to begin with) and slapped it on so at least I wasn't running my finger over broken glass.

Well on Sunday evening I dropped my phone again, this time on the corner of our bed frame.  This time it did some serious damage, and must have severed some internal cabling, completely farking the screen and some of the touch inputs.  This time the phone was truly fubared.

So I stole my stepson's upgrade (he was due for one in a month) and got myself another S9+.  Unimaginative, yeah, but this phone worked great for me, has all the features I want, and I already have a case and another screen protector for it, so I don't need to buy any more accessories.

You might want to look into a more robust case.

Or put some tree sap on his fingers instead of butter...

I'm still on my S7 that I got in March of 2017, running great!! Not sure what I'll get when it comes time to upgrade, probably a Pixel 3, I like the size of them, not too big.

That's a good point.  I've always liked smaller cases, however that obviously isn't working for me on this phone.

It's so stupid.  This is the first phone out of many in the past that I've ever broken.  Previous phones I haven't even used screen protectors.  I wonder if, because of the curved edges of this S9+, it is more susceptible to breakage?  The edges of the case don't come up past the screen like on my previous flat-screened phones, and while I like the aesthetic of it, that could definitely be contributing.

I've gone with the Sipgen Neo Hybird... it's fairly small and offers decent protection, I also have the Spigen Liquid Chrystal case and have dropped my S7 quite a few times with both cases & not an issue. Bought them on Amazon for cheap.

Very happy with my S9, but will be ready for an upgrade just about when the new S10 hits the shelves.  ;D

What improvements are they making with the S10?  Incremental, again?  Or something substantial?
