Watch an epic journey unfold on Wednesday, Feb. 18 as our Perseverance rover lands on Mars. To reach the surface of the Red Planet, the rover has to survive the harrowing final phase known as Entry, Descent, and Landing.

Only then can the rover – the biggest, heaviest, cleanest, and most sophisticated six-wheeled robot ever launched into space – search Jezero Crater for signs of ancient life and collect samples that will eventually be returned to Earth.

Tune in to a live video feed of key landing activities and commentary from Mission Control at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

After watching for 50+ years, space travel still fascinates me.
My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government. - Thomas Jefferson

^^^How about the NASA engineers who designed that robot thingy instead work on getting me some reliable WIFI?  Priorities, people, PRIORITIES.
Because, WIFI is not sexy for NASA Engineers. :P

Seriously, though, think about.  Imagine being a NASA engineer - a literal rocket scientist! - designing a spacecraft for travel to and from Mars...and having your Zoom call glitch out.  I dunno, I think I would be tempted to commercialize my talents in that event.

Reliable wifi isn't that challenging, most people just don't spend enough time/money on setting it up...

Well, this NASA Engineer has enough trouble with his own wifi to pop over to help you out with yours. :P

PS - Everyone see the pics today. So neat. Much 'neater-er' that wifi. ;)
PPS. The project that I worked on with NASA was 'Sparcle'.

In that event, come on over and we can solve that time/money dilemma but me paying you money for your time to set mine up.  ;D

Hahah I've moved further east from Ottawa back to NB  ;D. So certainly a bit hard to do that.

If you do have questions/would like advice and ideas PM me or post a thread and we can discuss options

NASA’s Perseverance Mars Rover safely touched down on the Red Planet on Feb. 18. So what will the robotic scientist "see" on her descent and what will she do next? Join mission experts for update about the rover – the biggest, heaviest, cleanest, and most sophisticated six-wheeled robot ever launched into space – including imagery it captured and its mission to explore Mars.

Starship SN10 might be going up today.

If so, will it make it back down in one piece?

It will eventually happen.  Space-X is really good at this stuff.

The fire suppression hose turned off..and literally within 1 minute BOOM!

Wonder...did they run out of water or pressure?  Can't imagine they wanted this thing to blow up.

SpaceX is attempting to fly Starship SN8 to an altitude of approximately 12.5 kilometers. The launch time is subject to change due to the fluid nature of the testing. The flight should occur sometime between 9 am and 5 pm Central time. Following liftoff, Starship SN8 will attempt a propulsive landing on SpaceX's landing zone located next to the launch pad.

Loading propellant, looks like they're going to give it a try.   I think they have until 6pm  eastern time.

Every SpaceX launch should be at 4:20 IMO.... ;D

Starting at 4:20EST NASA is going live with it's test to spark up the Artemis rocket system for an engine test.  O0 ;)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ELHOXi2t3lk

Actual firing window starts at 5pm

Another test coming up soon.
