Watch history unfold on Wednesday, May 27, as NASA and SpaceX launch astronauts Robert Behnken and Douglas Hurley to the International Space Station. This mission marks the first time since the retirement of the space shuttle in 2011 that humans will fly to the space station from U.S. soil.

Tune in starting at 12:15 p.m. EDT as NASA and SpaceX provide joint, live coverage from launch to arrival at the space station. Teams are targeting 4:33 p.m. EDT for the launch of the SpaceX Crew Dragon spacecraft atop a Falcon 9 rocket from historic Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The Crew Dragon is scheduled to dock to the space station at 11:29 a.m. Thursday, May 28.

Docking maneuvers with ISS going on now.

Wouldn't it be something if in the middle of it someone said " halt everything! Guys, did you bring perogies??"  ;D

Mitsubishi makes rockets.  Didn't know that.
UAE are sending a mission to Mars.     In the video you can see the supersonic shock wave off the rocket at about a minute in.

I was Project Engineer on a SBC (Single Board Computer) Trajectory System for a Mitsubishi M5 Rocket back in 1992!
The system had to survive (operate) in some pretty harsh shock and vibe conditions but, only for about 30 seconds. Then it became 'space dust'. ;D
I plucked the picture out of my collection of stuff I've worked on in my career.

Yeah, guess they couldn't stream it live or something?  Didn't want to?
They had tested a scenario where they recover it in mid-air with a helicopter, but they just let this one drop in the ocean on chutes.

Letdown...I sorta thought that was the whole point.

This might make up for some of the disappointment of their last video.  This is the 1st and 2nd stage separating and igniting.   It's pretty cool.

Starship SN8 might fly as early as tomorrow.  It's supposed to do a 15km flight and the "belly-flop" maneuver to  land.   Elon only gives it a one in three chance of finishing up in one piece.
