Looks nice...I am curious to see if they will offer SL + AWD + Manual combo.

Also wish they had named this Rogue Sport - same as US...Qashqai is too complicated.

Nice! AWD with 6 speed manual, the so called driving enthusiasts should probably put their money where their mouths are and buy it. SV AWD with 6 speed manual would be my choice, don't need the SL features. Power does seem a bit low, wonder if Nissan can offer the 1.6 litre turbo in there?

My sis in law in Australia has an AWD 6 speed Dualis (what the Qashqai is called there)

the interior looks rather underwhelming, to be honest...as well, is your SIL 3 foot 5??...maybe it's just an optical illusion but it looks like there is almost zero leg room in that thing.

It's a previous gen, the new one definitely looks nicer inside.

...I was going to say that, DKaz - that's the old Nissan interior that plagued the previous Rogue, Sentra, etc...except, oddly, the Versa Note :P

Fearless prediction: overall "Rogue" sales will rise up here, but sales of the bigger Rogue will lose out to the CashCow in the mix. Nissan really markets to "monthly payments" level, so a cheaper more fuel-efficient Rogue will work well here. In QC, people keep complaining that all cars are getting too big, so the "minus one" Rogue is sure to be a hit.

April 25th

"Nissan said its 2017 Qashqai sub-compact SUV will start at $19,998 when it hits dealerships in June.
The new nameplate, which will sit just below the Rogue in the expanding Nissan crossover and SUV lineup, is making its North American debut having been sold in other markets around the world.
“With compact crossovers becoming the largest volume segment in Canada, we recognized an opportunity for us to expand our already-diverse line-up even further,” said Joni Paiva, president, Nissan Canada Inc.
Given the competitive price point, look for Qashqai to be aimed at youthful couples and singles that need the versatility of a crossover but want vehicle dimensions closer to those of a sedan.

MSRP breaks down as follows:

Qashqai S FWD (M/T): $19,998 CAD
Qashqai S FWD: $21,998 CAD
Qashqai S AWD: $24,198 CAD
Qashqai SV FWD: $24,598 CAD
Qashqai SV AWD: $26,798 CAD
Qashqai SL AWD: $29,498 CAD
Qashqai SL AWD Platinum Package: $32,198 CAD

Destination and handling is $1,750.

Qashqai rounds out Nissan’s SUV lineup already composed of Armada, Pathfinder and Rogue.

Ugh, I was hopeful there'd be an AWD manual.

We were at the auto show on the weekend and there was one on display, looked like a nice size for us.

I know Nissan can be hit or miss, how reliable would this be?

"The name Qashqai comes from a nomadic Persian tribe that seasonally traversed the tough terrain that is now Iran, traveling with their flocks from highland to lowland pastures"

Funny, I just started reading the book "Operation Long Jump" about the German plot to assasinate the Allied leaders meeting in Tehran during WW2.  The Germans were allied with the Qashqai and used them to try to dislodge the British and Russian occupation of Iran.  Up until now I have never heard of them.

Dumb name for a car though!

The Murano also shares its name with a questionable group.  Not terribly thrilled with the choice of nomenclature.

This doesn't seem like a positive thing..

.33 cd - ouch.  I mean, my Forester is .37, but the new one dropped to .33.  I feel like the Nissan should be able to do better than Subaru on a new vehicle...

Goes to show that the 2.5L is the proper engine for this thing, and very questionable as to why is not a higher trim option.

because all the others have small engines and you save about 4000$ per trim level not bad comparing to the Rogue

so called driving enthusiast?

Driving enthusiasts would not touch this high riding, heavy, ungainly, un-aerodynamic POS with a ten foot pole, and instead hunt for the sport wagon with the manual and AWD.
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

there you go: found. Importing is easy, I can recommend a good company out of TO if you want.

Or you could go local...
